Forced roaming saves battery...

My diamond has a miserable battery in my house, which reception is marginal. A fully charged battery will be drained from 100% to dead from 8pm to next 8am doing nothing.

Just out of curiosity, I did the forced roaming hack and put my phone on Verizon network, which always shows full bars in my house. I am surprised to find the battery only dropped to 80% from full charge between 5Pm and next 8am.

I always thought roaming drains the battery faster. Seems I am wrong...
