I alwayes set mine to zero on every phone ive had. Treo, touch and my diamond and wifes touch. Not much diff in batt life. But the upside is you dont all of a sudden get a NEW VOICEMAIL and wtf my phone didnt even ring. Rings every time and quick.

Re: Slot cycle index change?

Just set mine to 1, works very well. Phone rings much quicker.

Re: Slot cycle index change?

You aren't going to notice a large difference in battery life unless you are in an area that has bad service. Then again you would have that anyways.

Re: Slot cycle index change?

Well Thank You for your timely answer

After having set this to 0 for almost a year now (typically answers between 1 and two 'rings') I manage to get almost a day's usage off my battery, and the difference between strong signal and weak is noticeable, but minimal.

Push Email intervals affects energy consumption much, much more in my experience. I've set it back to once per hour after draining my battery in 6 hours or so when on 5 minute intervals.

Re: Slot cycle index change?

  • Your Access Overload Class (ACCOLC) determines your phone's priority on the cell tower. The higher the number, the lower the priority. Do note that 0 and 1 are reserved for emergency service uses, so DO NOT use these. You can ACCOLC's of 2-9, default on Sprint should be the last digit of your phone number.
Thanks T M Z[/QUOTE]

Just got a refurbed tp2 (2nd time) and noticed when I went into my NAM settings to change my ACCOLC it was already set to 0. I decided to leave it as is.
