Internal Storage Wiped for No Reason

Hello,

Yesterday for no reason at all my internal storage in my diamond was wiped. What is strange is that when I check the storage memory, it still shows me that I am using 3gb out of the 4gb, which was what I was using before the wipe. I shut my phone off over night and when turned back on, I got some of my folders back but not all. I lost all my pictures and .cab files. I have weird files now that appeared in my internal storage named (K1/4) or (*) and such other strange files that were never there.

Is there any fix to this where I might be able to restore my pictures and such? If not I'll have to format my drive.

Thanks

You can try the internal storage fix on HTC.com's support section for the HTC Sprint Diamond.

It's worth a shot. I wish you luck!

Re: Internal Storage Wiped for No Reason

I would also attempt a hard reset without wiping internal storage if stevedog's suggestion didnt work.
Sounds like it could be a possible file system issue. Do your files come up when you connect to your PC via Disk Drive mode?

Tried a hard reset and no luck, and no they do not come up at all when I connect my phone to the computer. I will just have to format my drive.

Thanks a lot

Did you try the fix on HTC's site first?

This fix is if your phone can not detect the internal storage. My phone is detecting it just fine, but all my data was wiped. Even if I did do that fix, it would have required me to format my internal storage anyways. I ended up formating my storage and doing a hard reset. It took a while to get all my applications back, but my phone is running a lot faster and smoother.

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=51298maybe that.

Sounds like a problem on htc's end with the index of your files getting corrupt.
