Re: Make Opera Mobile Default Browser

I followed these steps and then did a soft reset. Wsed CERegEditor to make the edit, but PIE is still the default browser!!

All pages and links open with PIE. This is starting to piss me off tremendously.

Anyone have any ideas??

I had the same problem. It's a simple reg edit fix.
you have to edit these registry keys.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\: DEFBROWSER
"0"=Opera Browser
"1"="\Windows\OperaL.exe\"

that should do it for you.

Re: Make Opera Mobile Default Browser

So i had this exact same problem after checking SkyFire as my default browser and decided it wasn't the best for everything i do, I then had ALL of my email links and other sources opening in PIE. i spent hours (about 3) searching, to no avail, i gave up and set SkyFire as the default again.. somewhere in between then and the next day, Opera had become the default browser for everything on its own.

btw. The Sprint Music Store opens up on Opera on my phone.

Summary : No Reg Edits (even though i was looking for them) no trickery in the settings or anything, Opera became default by ... default

Re: Make Opera Mobile Default Browser

I re-installed the original CAB file & it seemed to make Opera mobile the default browser again. The CAB in found @ \Windows\WM6_PPC_HTC_Opera9_WWE.

I did the above regedit, but decided that PIE is better for quick browsing. What values to I need to put in to switch back to PIE?
