Can't Move Files to Diamond????
This has to be something simple, but it has me flummoxed.....
I've had my Diamond for a little more than a week, installed half a dozen programs from .cab files, all transferred to the Diamond the same way: connect the Diamond to my laptop via USB in disk mode, go into My Computer and open the Diamond, then drag the .cab file from wherever it was stored on the computer to Internal Storage on the Diamond. Suddenly, I can't do that anymore. When I open the Diamond in My Computer, I can see all the files, but if I try to drag any files to it, I get the circle-with-a-line-through-it indicator as soon as the cursor enters the window for the Diamond. Suggestions? |
Re: Can't Move Files to Diamond????
did you try doing a hard reset on your diamond?? thats the first thing i would try.

Re: Can't Move Files to Diamond????
That would be the last thing I would try.
First I'd reset, then try again. Then I'd goto USB to PC, set it to Disk Drive again then try. Then I'd set it to activesync and see if I could transfer that way Then maybe a hard reset. |
Re: Can't Move Files to Diamond????
Yeah, I look at a hard reset as the nuclear option, not ready to try that yet. Tried the soft reset first thing, of course, but with no luck.
I did find that by copying the .cab file I was trying to transfer to a different folder on my laptop, then dragging it from that folder instead of the usual location where my downloads reside, it worked. I'm still at a loss as to why, though. |
Re: Can't Move Files to Diamond????
Not familiar w/ the Diamond, but why not d/l the .cab files OTA if possible, then run directly from the device?

That makes a BIG difference...although that wasn't mentioned on the 1st post.

Thanks, guess it's one of those "nature of the breed" things, I'll know to move it elsewhere from the zip file first next time! |
