I think you're alone on that one.

could be a bad file... try uploading the file to your phone again... if that doesnt work then maybe try a different bitrate.

As for me, the audio issue never went away... but the phone did... so good luck to you guys. I do really want to know what's causing this issue to begin with though.

Re: Huge problem on all Diamonds?

SOLVED! (nope, see below)

I think the Diamond becomes sluggish after you hit the power button (while it's trying to conserve energy). If you're listening to music while the phone is in this state and something power-intensive happens (like managing connection issues)..... you know the rest. I guess I should've expected that from a phone so amazing, yet so small.

So my solution is to leave the phone in a dimmed state rather than completely black while listening to music. You're probably concerned about battery life right now. I don't know what to tell you except to flash a Juicy and flash the 1.03.03V radio.

If you want to help me test this, you can do it however you want. I plan to change backlight settings to dim after 10 or 30 sec then lock, auto-lock, or throw it on the passenger seat. Please post your test results. I'll have mine shortly.

EDIT: Problem NOT solved. I seems like it's more of an issue with the TouchFlo music player than anything else. If you use Windows Media Player it happens less and when it does it's less severe. Also, it ONLY happens a minute after the backlight is turned off. And this really sucks beacuse, you might not notice, but whenever a Diamond has connection issues it turns the backlight on automatically. So even if you press that power button once and listen for hours, you'll still get
hiccups every time the backlight goes off after it's time-out following the automatic-on bug. This is B.S. Sometimes, I wish I had an iPhone. And I could add more issues I've noticed while listening to music (specifically regarding volume and audio booster issues - being forced to start playing music before you plug in the retarded adapter), but I won't (did) go into it.

Heh, I can assure you I'm just as picky. I drive an inexpensive Honda Fit but I'm anal about sound quality. I use Kenwood eXcelon amps and headunit and Infinity Kappa speakers in my car, if it sounded bad I would treat the music player on this phone as an afterthought. But I'm actually surprised how well the music player on the Diamond sounds through a well amplified system. Its even really good at processing large lossless MP3s and does so very well. I've officially left my Creative Zen Vision:M at home for the past month.

Very odd man, I turn off my screen and lock the phone and it plays without any hiccups whatsoever. Something is bugged with power management on your phone. Hard reset? Re flash? Some sort of hardware problem on your phone?

I'd look into that and I'm willing to bet that you have a hardware problem if after a hard-reset or re-flash your phone still gives you this playback issue with no other software installed. Check into that man.

Re: Huge problem on all Diamonds?

I had the same problems on my Stock Telus Diamond, two days after I got the phone I started using custom ROMS and have not had the issue since. Currently I am using Juicy 3.2 and it is great no problems at all with the music.

Maybe you're right. I've tried everything. I've been flashing and hard-reseting again and again as Juicy's updates come out. I've upgraded my radio and created custom ROMS. All thanks to this problem. At least something good came of it. Well I guess I don't have the stock ROM and radio waiting on my computer for nothing. Hopefully Sprint won't give me any trouble when I try to swap for a new one. I've been wanting to ever since I noticed my center button sits a little higher on one side, but it's so hard to let go of ... even a broken Diamond.

As I stated above I think this is just the reality of using a tiny, awesome phone. Some have the problem some don't, but I can tell you that it's not defective hardware that's causing it. I went to Sprint to get a new Diamond and the problem persists. Maybe it's that I've filled my 4GB, maybe it's the way gomusic.ru formats their mp3's, maybe having renamed all album art to "folder.jpg" somehow gets in the way... I don't know. But the solution I posted previously has been working so that problem is solved.

Now to figure out how to stream videos through Orb without them being so choppy. Dshow? ....here we go again.

EDIT: In case you're reading this and wondering about Orb... use Internet Explorer instead of Opera and stream at about 300..... solved.
