Huge problem on all Diamonds?

Never experienced this issue, I stream all my music threw Orb using WMP Mobile.

One reason I bought this phone was to replace my ipod. I am very disappointed with the music issues that many are having. I returned my first diamond due to skipping problems and can now report that the second diamond has the same issue. I'm on stock sprint rom. It does not matter whether I'm listening in a car or the diamond is stationary when listening at home. I can also tell you that airplane mode makes no difference, nor does listening using wmp versus touchflo's player. I have tried copying cds as mp3 and wma and it makes no difference. I also tried transferring music using disk mode versus wmp sync on the pc. I was hoping to replace my ipod with this device.

I am hoping for a sprint/htc rom update to fix our troubles.

Well I for one use my Diamond as a music player every day with large 100mb+ 128-320kbps MP3s (listen mostly to long electronic music mixes) and have only ONE issue that isn't related to what is being mentioned here.

The only issue I've noticed, both on stock Sprint ROM and on Juicy's 2.4.1+, is if while playing music you unplug the audio adapter and plug it back on after playback resumes, the volume shoots up drastically. Easily fixed by unpluging the adapter, pausing playback, pluging the adapter back in and resuming playback. I've never noticed weird poping noises or pauses, and I drive A LOT, heck I only use the music player in the car.

Other observations I can offer with the TF3D player is that when I was on Sprint's ROM and the phone started a data connection (for example, Active Sync connecting to sync) playback would pause completely and I'd have to unlock the phone, and resume playback. This hasn't been apparent since I switched to custom ROMs. Currently on Juicy's 2.6 with no playback issues exept for the one I mentioned above.

One more thing I'm curious about. How about different carriers?

Some of you who post don't have your usercp set up, so maybe make a note of where you're Diamond comes from (Sprint, Alltel, or Verizon).

Wow... Orb is the most incredible program I've ever seen. I knew I'd like you people on this forum.

EDIT: Orb IS awesome, but I heard a kiccup on the second song I played - I think those of you who "don't hear" the hiccups don't listen to music like I do. I focus on my music like I focus on jiggly juggs.

I have about 400 GB of music... are you actually saying that you don't think I listen to the music that carefully? I am a very picky person and if it "hiccuped" once I would be pissed and spend every waking second I had trying to figure it out. The fact is I simply don't have that problem at all.

Stock Sprint rom on Sprint. Nothing special. Except I use MortPlayer.

yes skips for me using touchflo player on sprint rom ... however i'm afraid to really play much to save the precious battery life ...
