Can I Leave My Diamond Unlocked?

I recently did a search on how to hard reset my Diamond.
So I did or actually I didn't do a hard reset but I unlocked my Diamond.
Alot of the stuff on the web has instructions on how to do a hard reset but are really instructions on how to unlock your Diamond.
Alot of misinformation out there.
But the question is:
Is it ok to leave My Diamond unlocked?
and if so, is there anything I should be aware of if I do leave it unlocked?
