Re: PocketShield Screen Lock

I like this app, but have 1 issue. Seems after several hours of use, sometimes when i unlock it, the task bar across the top is gone. have to soft reset to get it back. I can use the touchflo interface and open apps etc. I can even close apps by pressing where the ok/x button should be and it works. Just don't have taskbar. Anyone else seen this?

I think this dialer and the plug in were made for GSM. It gave me the same issues I had on my Mogul when I installed a GSM dialer. :???:

I started using this app and love it... One issue that i cant seem to fix in settings no matter what combo i try..

App is running, i let set on my desk untouched for hours and it never kicks in automatically. I must always press the power button to get it to start and kick in..

What am I missing??

After a call it kicks in just like i have it set to do, but after reading emails, sending a txt etc it doent kick in for some reason.

Re: PocketShield Screen Lock

I've been using PocketShield for about 2 weeks and most of the time it's been fine. However, I am having what may be the same problem that others have reported - sometimes I am unable to slide down the unlock bar and I miss the call. I installed the latest version today and the problem went from occasional to every time.

For now, I enabled the hardware buttons so I can answer the calls by pressing the phone button. This should work for me (I hope). My only reason for getting this was to prevent accidentally hitting the screen and dismissing a call while pulling out of the case.

So long as this hardware button workaround continues to work, I'll be ok with this. FWIW, I tried all of the free options mentioned earlier in this thread and none of them worked reliably on my Diamond.

s2u2 -> gx or whatever.. just rename wallpaper.jpg, or .gif, depending on what you have it set to in settings.

I've seen it. It looks like pocketshield is turning itself off randomly or crashing. If you open the settings program, turn it back ON, then lock and unlock your phone your task bar will return.

Used s2u2 since I got my phone...
...tried pocketshield for the past week and must say it blows s2u2 out of the water - GREAT LOCKING APP!

I had the same problem you had and upgraded yesterday to the latest version that lets you use the center button. Also the slide down works now as well. You should not have the problem after the upgrade that was posted on December 20th.

It is way better. I was having all sorts of problems and was ready to give up on it, but I am way sold on it now.

Yep - installed and works beautifully. I have it set to unlock only using the slider.

Stylus unlock feature works perfectly in my tests, but I turned it off. Tried the g-sensor unlock, but didn't like it (I guess it just looks silly to me - and kind of inappropriate if you catch my drift). Didn't try the light sensor either, so YMMV. The new version added a center button unlock mechanism too, which I haven't tested either. But I imagine it works just fine.

As far as simply locking and unlocking goes, it simply kills s2u2 (in regards to sliding since thats the only way I want to have to unlock). Virtually no lag with the slider - no matter how long my phone was idle. Never does that thing where s2u2 shows the home screen for a split second then goes back to the lock screen. Also have not had ANY problems whatsoever with answering calls (I set it so that I unlock then press answer currently, but I did test the slider to answer/ignore and it worked just fine for me too). Also haven't tested the dialer because I read a few posts back people were having problems getting the original back.

Definitely worth the $12 imho.

i like this version much better than the previous also.. i was about to trash pocketshield for something else as I was having nothing but trouble.

Center button works fine on my Pro

One thing i dont like about PS is when it is locked, you cant activesync via cable, and when you unlock it attached to cable AS gets in a long attempt to connect back and sometimes it works adn sometimes it doesnt.. so next version needs to not turn off AS when it is locked.

Yeah - probably the only problem I've encountered with this...but I never really have that problem since I got into the habit of having it unlocked before I try to sync via usb. Definitely something that should be implemented though.

Edit - this may explain it - http://www.pocketshield.net/phorum/r...12,112#msg-112

Re: PocketShield Screen Lock

New version available today - but it's not working correctly. after I use the slide bars one time to ignore a call, every call after that is missing the slide bar (answer and ignore soft buttons are there though) and when caller hangs up before I take any action PS just sits there, like it's stuck. Doesn't seem to be any way to go back to a previous version.

Has anyone noticed that they're task bar disappears sometimes? I thought it was the custom task bar I've got but I uninstalled it and it still happened!

Re: PocketShield Screen Lock

Just discovered Pocketshield today.... the deal breaker for me is that it is simply a screen protector and does not address security at all. Pity... looked like a good app.

Quote:

To get the optimal usage experience of PocketShield, password protection must be disabled. Remember that PocketShield is not a security application, it is a screen protection application. If password protection is a must for you then you can use it together with PocketShield but then it could be not so comfortable for you to have to enter your PIN each time you need to unlock or use the phone.

Re: PocketShield Screen Lock

It's junk. An incoming call is often impossible to answer as it won't unlock. sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

How do I remove it?

:D Dude, try Slide2UnlockPro here:

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/attachment...9&d=1222785535

I use it and it never interferes with calls and it's much lighter than S2U2.
I find it works best if you set it to turn backlight off after a minuite and turn off device after two minuites. Set it to auto-start with backlight off.

BTW To remove pocketshield try to remove it at Settings/System Tab/Remove Programs. If that doesn't work you could use sktools or memmaid to uninstall it or manually delete related files and folders using File Explorer.
