I like the fact it does not have a cut out for a belt clip.

I believe the ebay auction you were looking at is for the GSM diamond.

i picked up a couple of these cases, black and blue (both rubberized) they fit great (although could use a tiny bit of fine sanding for some very very minor burs from molding process on edge)
i love the feel of them too, remind me of the rubbery/satin finish on the ibm thinkpads
does make it a lil pain to touch the immediate edges of screen (mostly just on the right because of the way i hold it) but doesn't inhibit it if i use my other hand or the stylus

This is what I use too. I like it a lot.

I have one of those Tecnocell slip-ons from the Sprint store too, and it's ok, but the problem with it is that the bottom lip overlaps the front of the hardware buttons and when you try to hit send to bring up your dialer it reads it as you are trying to scroll thru TF tabs. It's actually really annoying and I stopped using it.

Re: case/shell for sprint diamond?

I just got the metal case from PDAir and was somewhat more pleased with the results. Yes, it adds bulk and so far my favorite cases were the cheap 2-piece plastic when I could find ones that fit but those are annoying to remove constantly to change batteries or place the phone in a charging cradle.

The metal case came with a plastic window over the screen which I removed so that I could use the touchscreen with the phone still in the case. Touching the edges without the stylus is a bit tricky. The stylus is easy to reach; much easier than the silicone cases. The power button is a bit tricky to press with my left thumb if held in my left hand and the volume buttons are quite easy to reach. The attachment for the belt clip screws on from the outside so it can be installed without removing the phone from the case.

I've drop-tested the phone a few times and the case stays closed even though the hinge release seems a bit too loose for my liking. So far I'd say this is the best case I've seen for protection--especially if the screen protector is left in; but I didn't like the idea of having to open the case every time I wanted to use the touchscreen.

UPDATE:

Can't maintain GPS lock in case; signal strength is very poor. It seems the aluminum case interferes heavily with the radio.
