Did you install the VGA pocket express? I have the crappy looking one because I can't find the VGA one for the life of me. The difference is the big icons on PageOne (the first page that opens) and the font not overlapping. If you have it please give the link or file!

I just have the Pocket Express that came on the phone..... looks like VGA to me.. If you want to tell me how to get it to you, I'd be happy to try..

with that setup you are better off leaving it connected all the time. the process of dialing/authenticating/ect seems to drain the battery more than just leaving it in a dormant state (data arrows are grey'd)

I had no idea, thanks for this.

When I put a GSM dialer skin on my Mogul it happened and I had to remove the skin. I added PocketShield (I think) and it had a dialer and a plug-in that kept the arrows in a constant on state even when I wasn't transferring data. It's not a bad thing, but it bugs me, so I removed it.

So do you think the arrows are "skinned" to LOOK LIKE they're on, or there is a program actually KEEPING them on? Because I just changed back to the Tf3d dialer and that was the problem! I know for certain that my battery life was better with the battery edit, EVEN with these arrows "stuck on" so I just figured they were misreporting. It bugs me too, that they stay on :evil4:

Thanks meatgel!

Suz;

If you changed from the Diamond dialer, I do believe the arrows always "look on".

At least when I breifly changed to the windows dialer, that's how it did me.

How much battery life are you getting?

I am on a custom ROM with the C4RBON kitchen, and I still desire more juice.

From what I "learned" when I had my Mogul, using a dialer made for GSM just made them look like data was always transferring even when it wasn't. I always worried (in addition to my OCD) that I wouldn't be able to dial 911 because I read that that got messed up too with those dialers.:)

Hi grant, I posted this earlier in this thread - I'm on the Stock ROM and I'm not really interested in flashing the ROM until I've had it for a while.. I still am not positive I love this thing yet....lol Today I've been off the charger since 6:45 am and it's now 10:36. I've used quite a bit of texting and email, 20 min of voice or so, and I was at the gym for about 45 min (they have a horrible signal in there) - I don't have a battery meter, but I still have 2 bars on my battery level. I'm going to guess that I will have another couple of hours but I don't know for certain. I'll report back later. At first I was getting about 4 hours, on Saturday after the reg edit, I was at 9 hours before I needed to charge.

from my previous post:
I just wanted to confirm that this registry edit seems to be a God-send! I have had my Diamond for a week. I do a fair amount of texting (20-30) in a morning, as well as PushEffect on one account. I also have a mail2web account set to sync "as items arrive". I then have a gmail account set for 30 min retrieval intervals. I also run SMS chat, and Inbox tones, I use TF3d, and I'm on Sprint's stock rom. I don't use a lot of voice, but maybe 30 minutes a day (this week I have used very little because of the poor battery life I've been experiencing). I take the phone off the charger about 6:45 and about 11:30 I am getting the critical "low battery" message and need to plug in immediately (because I get about 5-10 minutes before it shuts off completely) That's just about 5 hours of use. Not acceptable!

I made this registry edit last night, and today I have been off the charger for a little over 9 hours, with 30 minutes of voice, 30 minutes of YouTube viewing (I have to laugh at Shane Mercado doing Beyonce, hilarious) about 30 texts, 30 emails (opened & replied) and playing with MusicID for about 15 min, and VoiceCommand (which is totally cool) for about 20 minutes...and I JUST got the low battery message. I'd say that's a hell of an improvement! Oh! And I installed Gyrator this morning and let it run for this duration (I heard it can drain the battery pretty quick too? My phone froze twice so I deleted it.....I do love it though!)

Just from going to the WM dialer, you can't dial 911? Well hell. That's not exactly something you can test now is it? LOL........

"Hi 911? Yes, this is Suz..just checking to see if my dialer works......thanks!"

Using GSM only dialers on CDMA phones cause the phones to lock up when trying to dial 911

what are the stock values again? (for decimal and hex)

I'd like to roll it back because I'm having trouble with my Garmin Mobile XT acquiring satellites now and the problems started right after I did this tweak. Trying to figure out if this will do the trick since I haven't installed anything or completed any other tweaks.

Stock is 5000 in decimal, which represents 5000ms or 5 secs.
