Re: Juggalo_X's Notification Enhancements (LED Flash Hack)
This isn't workin for me. Sure the options are now there, and I have it set for led notification with "no limit".. However I woke up this morning with email and a text message, but no led.

Perhaps someone should set it to 60 minutes and see if it indeed goes for an hour... |

Re: Juggalo_X's Notification Enhancements (LED Flash Hack)
It seems that the led is only flashing for about a half hour, even though it's set for "no limit".
|
Re: Juggalo_X's Notification Enhancements (LED Flash Hack)
Yes !! I have tested this with Juicy 2.4.1 I gave a miss call and soon after 30 minutes the flashing went away. BTW, I have set to "no limit". Also, there were no other intrusions, other missed calls or messages that would trigger LED flashing...
So, no matter what, it stops at 30 minutes.. |

I used to run a program called TreoAlert on my Treo 700wx, that program was insanely popular because there was a real need for repeat notifications. Juggalo - I appreciate all your work but I'm not sure I agree with your statement that "repeat" is not necessary. What if you get a text and miss it because the ambient noise was too loud or something? You won't know it until you check your phone. I for one would love nothing more than having repeat notifications for any missed events - text, email, missed call, VM etc. Thanks! |

Re: Juggalo_X's Notification Enhancements (LED Flash Hack)
I have found that the e-mail notification flashes for 5 minutes no matter what I set it to. It still flashes for 5 minutes even when I un-check the flash led option.
|
Re: Juggalo_X's Notification Enhancements (LED Flash Hack)
Yep, for some reason un-checking the flash led box does not stop it from flashing when I receive a text msg either
|
Re: Juggalo_X's Notification Enhancements (LED Flash Hack)
How come the repeat doesnt work?

It works on other WM devices, I haven't tested on Diamond so here is a quick a dirty test. HKCU/ControlPanel/Notifications/ and look for one of the keys that you want to modify. Look at the "(Default)" value, it will give you a clue which function it controls, such as New Text or New Email. Look for a DWord named "Options". Take note of the existing value so you can revert later if necessary. Change the value to 4000000D (hex) or 1073741837 (decimal). Reset (not sure if necessary). Now, go to that modified function under Settings/Personal/Sounds & Notifications/Notifications and chose that field. Set it to "Play sound", and "Repeat" should un-gray. Give it a try and let me know how it goes. I will look at it more tomorrow. Edit: The hex value should be 4000001D and NOT 4000000D!! Edit2: More notes to follow. I will start a new thread on this. I'm testing this now, will report results. First result - repeat doesn't work when phone is set to vibrate. It only repeats ringer tones. Any ideas why? |
Re: Juggalo_X's Notification Enhancements (LED Flash Hack)
Thank you...yes it worked. I'm sure alot of people are gonna what to know how to do this!

Re: Juggalo_X's Notification Enhancements (LED Flash Hack)
Ok it keeps repeating the tone for a new text message even though I've dismissed the notification. The text message is clearly marked as read but it still keeps repeating :(
|
Re: Juggalo_X's Notification Enhancements (LED Flash Hack)
And another thing....even after you read a text message or whatever...it keeps reminding until the time is up that you set!!! It doesnt shut off after you look at text or go to your voicemail! Just when you thought it was going to work right....

Sorry it didn't work as expected. I'm looking at another method... Will let you know what I find. I may have also found vibe w/ ring on & vibe w/ ring off, if they are helpful.

or we can figure out if there is another option value that will work and allow the alert to be dismissed like the reminder... snovvman would probably be able to look into this better as i never did look into the issue. |

its called treo alert. i used it on my treo. but i dont think its treo specific
ill see if i can dig it up |
Re: Juggalo_X's Notification Enhancements (LED Flash Hack)
Lol yeah I've mentioned in this thread that I used to use TreoAlert on my old 700wx. I don't think you can use it on the Diamond, but I'll check. I know it's available on the treocentral.com forums, I'll get it from there and try it.
Thanks. |
Re: Juggalo_X's Notification Enhancements (LED Flash Hack)
treo alert was great software

Re: Juggalo_X's Notification Enhancements (LED Flash Hack)
It is certainly easy to comment ex post facto. Now then, third-party apps are always an easy option. I prefer PhoneAlarm. It offers repeat, and so much more. The current versions support TF3D.
If you wish to puruse the "OE" option, and would like to help, go to the same keys and change the values under "Option", go from decimal value of 1, soft reset, and go back to the "Notifications" panel, take note and report what options are gray and what are not. Map those out and it may help determine another way to unlock "Repeat". I'm also looking at some entries that don't exist in the Diamond that may be helpful. Stay tuned... |
Re: Juggalo_X's Notification Enhancements (LED Flash Hack)
I know this question must have been asked already, but here goes anyway (and I did try to search for the answer).
What is number 3 in the picture below? Is it a light sensor or is it the multicolor LED that is found in the predecessor to this phone? http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/8756/touchledcr6.jpg -s |
Re: Juggalo_X's Notification Enhancements (LED Flash Hack)
it's the ambient light sensor
|
Re: Juggalo_X's Notification Enhancements (LED Flash Hack)
DAMN, thanks jason25, I miss the old multicolor Leds and was hoping that there was a way to get them back. Oh well, guess we will have to wait and see if the white ones can do other colors.
