It's not black and white; Telus will probably not notice, but it's use at your own risk. Do what I did: connect with it, download 1 or 2 megs worth of data and wait for your next bill to see what happens.

You can also check your data use when you login at mytelusmobility.com if you're not patient enough to wait for your next bill.
Myke...

Yes but I wonder if you start using it more and more and start racking up the megs if then they will charge?

I had to download a 230MB file onto 2 laptops for a presentation last month and ended up using WMWifiRouter because the wireless in the hotel was busted and there was no-one there overnight to fix it. I did the download onto both laptops at the same time and averaged 170 k/sec on each one. No charge on my bill, even though I can see the 460MB download on mytelusmobility.com.
I've been using WMWifiRouter since August and ripped through 1.64GB in that time, probably less than a quarter of the total being acutal browsing or other data stuff on the phone itself. No charge. Imagine that at $8.00/MB!!
Myke...

I thought wmwifirouter did not show up on your bill I thought it was undetected by provider?

It isn't, my point is just be cautious and test it out to make sure whatever you're using is working for you before you do any major data transfer otherwise at 8$/MB you could have a nasty surprise.

Re: Tethering with Telus

Hey guys,

I'm sorry if my question is a bit redundant, but i just wanna make sure i don't get charged just in case.

I'm currently using Juicy 4.3 ROM on my telus diamond, and i've seen that "3rd option" when you connect your phone to your laptop...i just wasn't sure what that was.

so my question is, would it be better to try tethering by clicking that option, or by using WMWifiRouter? (i.e. which option would give me better assurance that I won't be charged for using data if i connect to my laptop)?

Thanks for the help everyone, as it's always greatly appreciated.

(p.s- sorry once again if i'm being redundant lol)
