Re: Obtaining MSL

Nice, they gave it to me that way.

Issue is, when entering it, I get:

"Check unlock code failed."

I've tried a few times and it still doesn't work. The one-time unlock code didn't work either, which is also pretty strange.

Anyway see this before?

If you tell them your phone isn't getting service, the first thing the reps are trained to do is "reset" the device. During the "reset" they give you the MSL at some point.

The only way they should deny you is if the phone has been reported lost/stolen or the ESN is not in their system.
Hello I tried 2 calls. Both times I got to advanced technical support. Both people told me that I they have no way of getting the MSL with having an account for that phone. The second time I asked for a sup and got a sup and she told me the same thing.

I also told them that I was a software developer working on a contract porting an application from Blackberry to HTC Diamonds. I told them it was for stock trading online.

They also told me that it is their company policy not to give out the MSL without an account.

I am not sure who elese to call anyone know who to call???

I tried this but CDMA Workshop says I need a registered version.
These were the step that I followed:
Use CDMA Workshop and connect to the phone in diag mode.
Go to the "Security" Tab and hit "Read" SPC.
Select Universal Ram Method and Custom.
Address is: 018E:0190
Hit READ to find your SPC.

I was also able to find the drivers and software.

But I was not able to get this to work because it needs registration.

Is there another way or another version of the program cracked / serial?

Re: Obtaining MSL

Use this method. I don't know who found it, but credit goes to them.

Change the following registry entries in:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\ATDbgLog
Enable: 1
LogMode: 1
* Wait a reasonable amount of time and soft-reset (I have noticed that it seems to take longer for this value to take affect, so if you reboot and the registry values are not changed, then you need to do it again and wait longer)
* Check to see that the file \ATDbg0\ATDbg0.txt has been created.
* Return the values back to what they were (most likely 0) waiting the same amount of time as above.
* Look in the ATDbg0.txt file and you should see a log of commands sent to the CDMA radio and there should be something like this somewhere in the file:
|| Begin Code Sample ||
11:9:3 Tx:AT+HTC_RMSL=0\r
11:9:3 Rx:+HTC_RMSL: 354201\r\n0\r
11:9:3 Tx:AT+HTC_ROTKSL=0\r
11:9:3 Rx:+HTC_ROTKSL: 216112\r\n0\r
|| End Code Sample ||
The numbers next to the Rx: +HTC_RMSL line should be your MS

I found qpst and installed it on my vista box but was not able to get it to see my phone. Or it may require a special cable or it may only support xp and below.

I dont know what to try next.

Does QPST need a special cable? Does it work under Vista?

I also tried CDMA Workshop but I was unable to get it to read the phone. It is looking for COM ports and I am connected via USB....

What is another method to get the MSL without calling or using CDMA Workshop or getspc.exe?
Even if you get QPST working it asks for the MSL to read the device.

To everyone who is following this thread. This is the only way that would work..

I GOT IT!!!!!! I am SOO OOOO HAPPY!!!

I used resco explorer to change the registry then waited about 1 hour. I reset the phone twice. The log directory was in the root directory.

No one answered why getspc.exe did not return the correct value. If one of the programmers of getspc would like to know my values let me know. I think that is an important utility....

If that is my only option but I am wondering if anyone else cant get their code and how they fixed it.
Did you ever find a MLS code to unlock your phone? I been trying mine for about the last 4 hours trying different ways of using GetSPC and no code it gives me works. If you figured out a way please let me know.
