So this is what I did. Painted it with some paint.

It's more detailed than that, but anyone who has done any rocketry or models should know how to paint something nicely. This will hold me over till there are some decent battery covers out.

Good job brother, you saw a problem and found a solution =D>

It does look nice darker, but not worth fighting with a sprint store if it needs TEP work done on it. if there were replacement OEM covers available itd be one thing cause you could buy an extra OEM red one and pop it on. but you still have the red usb port and stylus. i dont mind the red its dark enough that it looks good.
There will be replacements soon and I will surely get one. A stock one, and maybe a few more so I can paint them. It's only a matter of time before someone brings the sprint cover to their injection molder and start pumping out replacements. The sprint battery cover is black anyways, they just painted over it, so they could make additional money with replacements. Since they cant charge for a battery cover on the initial phone they made sure it was acceptable at the lowest level, but not likeable and now their waiting on market anticipation before they announce the replacements. It's actually pretty smart, I wouldnt have expected they were capable of actually doing something like that. Maybe sprint is getting smarter in their marketing practices.

i agree it is pretty smart... the only way they could've outdone themselves on this is to make it like hot pink or something... or bling encrusted with rhinestones lol...

Re: Sprint Black Battery Cover

I've checked the Telus Mobility website and it doesn't look like they're selling replacement battery doors yet, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time.
If any of you Sprint kids want to trade, I can meet you in Bellingham. I'll start the bidding at one hundred billion, trillion, fo-fillion, shabadabadillion.... yen.
Hope that helps!
Myke....
