Re: Major problem with Internal Storage on HTC Diamond

your welcome. As for sticking it, i dont think i have VB controls for that. i guess a MOD or Super Mod would be the one to sticky it.

Re: Major problem with Internal Storage on HTC Diamond

That's the entire point of having mods....

I also disagree, because this has only occured on less than what, 20 user's phones? Your walkthrough is thorough (though basic) but this really isn't a widespread problem, and does it apply to all users, therefore, no sticky, in my opinion.

Re: Major problem with Internal Storage on HTC Diamond

I just thought it would be nice to either sticky it or put it at the first of the thread. Because now we have 12+ pages that someone is going to have to read through trying different ways that may or may not work. The method posted by amart79196 has already worked 4 times for me. Just trying to save some people time. Oh yea a tech with Sprint did say it was a pretty big problem. Appreciate your opinion though.

Re: Major problem with Internal Storage on HTC Diamond

my best recommendation that worked for me was doing the format in dos under windows,

go to start, run, type in "cmd", this will bring up the dos command prompt, when i plug my phone in under disk drive mode my internal storage shows up as "G drive" find out what yours is. in dos window type "format g:" hit enter and follow the command prompts it might take up to 5 min for it to format since it is not the quick format option. also once you have formatted using the option about you can reformat in a quick method again if you want type "format g: /q".

i am not responsible if you F'up your phone

I would disagree with your statement that this should not be stickied.... I scoured several threads on numerous boards before I finally stumbled across this one which solved my issue..

Any user of a Diamond can easily invoke this problem if they attempt to 'clean storage' and choose either of the last two clear options.

Most probably won't try and clean storage when they received their phone immediately, but this problem will come up repeatedly in the future as people begin clearing their phones.

Re: Major problem with Internal Storage on HTC Diamond

I was having various flaky problems with my second diamond and before I brought it to the store to have it replaced under 30 day exchange. To clear my data before returning it, I tried to do the clear storage, internal memory only and it did not complete successfully. After that it got really flaky. It showed "not installed" on the memory display although programs that were installed on the memory card like google maps continued to work! I did however do another clear storage, memory and internal storage right before they took it back and miraculously that one worked! just an FYI since I returned mine!

Re: Major problem with Internal Storage on HTC Diamond

WOW! Amarts fix would have been REALLY helpful a month ago when I had to exchange my Diamond for a new one for this issue and subsequently sold it on eBay after not using the new one. I decided it was a fatal flaw and didnt want to risk having it happen again.

Well now that I am back with Verizon I am waiting to see if they release their own Diamond because I do miss my Sprint Diamond.

Re: Major problem with Internal Storage on HTC Diamond

Did anyone else notice the Sprint Diamond internal storage hotfix posted on HTC's support page today:

http://www.htc.com/us/supportdownloa...id=148&act=all

Sorry if repost, just noticed it when I went looking for updates for my Touch Pro. Didn't see any mention of it in the forums yet.
