After hearing about the deals retentions is giving, I decided to call and told them to cancel my morning online order and possibly terminate my contract. They asked me why and do I really want to cancel my service. I said yes because I need to get 2 diamonds and if I do then its going to cost me over 1000 dollars even with the $75 rebate. Then I said thst I really want the new iphone and 2 iphones will cost me 400 dollars. So money wise its a best route to take. She said to wait and she will talk to her supervisor. Anyways she calls me back 1 hour later and said. Since I have been a customer since 07 and they really value my business, they will give me 2 Diamonds for $ 500. Thats 249.99 each. I asked if its rebates and she said it is and she is doing them manually and dont worry I dont need to send them since she is doing them on the spot. I said thank you very much and send them over asap. So I went from $530.80 for 1 to $500.00 for 2. Thank you everyone fpr letting us know about calling telesales for the order. You can try this method too!. I dont know if its the reason of buying 2, but it worked. ! Now, I wonder whats going to happen when I return them for the Pro's. I hope they are as nice!

NICE!!!!

WELL I HAVNT DONE MINE YET ...BUT WITH THE MIR AND INSTANT SAVING PLUS THE 2 REFER A FRIEND 25$ CARD SHOULD B AROUND $200.

Btw... I did get worried earlier when one CS agent told me that i cannot get this phone under my SERo 30mo plan. I insisted that I could since i was told earlier that I would be able to. So to make the story short, I kept my 30mo. SERO and i am very happy. I did just have to agree to a 2 year extension agreement. So that is fine with me.. heck, if they offered me a 4 year agreement I would have gotten it too! #0mo is for sure a kik *** plan!

Activation, upgrade, and overnight shipping have all been waived. **BTW, this price doesn't include the MIR. The phone may or may not come with it. Sprint rep said to mail in the MIR if indeed it comes with the phone. If it doesn't, I can't really complain. I think $199 is a really good price!!

They made me jump through maaaaaaany hoops for this phone since I have the old Free & Clear plan (been with sprint since 2000) and was told that my old plan won't work with this new phone. I know they were BS-ing me since I was able to order the Treo 800w a month ago without having to change anything on my plan (had to return it due to freezing issues with Windows Mobile).

I'm dreading having to activate this device over the phone and am hoping not to go through the same issues I did purchasing it. I'm sure they'll pull the same "oh we can't activate it because your plan isn't compatible with the phone." Has anyone gone through this same problem with Sprint?

Not yet, but I'm preparing myself for it when I call to activate the diamond, since I'm in the same boat as you.

We have the Fair and Flexible 700 w/ unlimited vision and SMS, shared between my wife and I. But I was very clear with the reps in the store last month that we wouldn't upgrade if we had to change plans. It's twice as much $$ for the current 1500 min share data/voice/text that just offers extra minutes we won't use. What's the point? But the store rep took about 3 minutes to approve the 2-yr renewal upgrades keeping our current plan, and also let us upgrade to a Centro and a Treo 800w.

I seriously hope they don't try to pull some crap on me when I call in on Tuesday.

You know.. I have given this some thought, how much do you all think Sprint is paying for one Diamond from the manufacturer? I bet its around 100 dollars? Just a guess.

Re: Diamond payment?

ok, so knock my original total down another $100 to $174.99! Cha-ching!

After reading all you guys talking about getting the extra $100 straight off the top instead of having to send a MIR, I called up retentions and told them about it, and said if it wasn't too much trouble I was wondering if I could have my order adjusted to do the same. Unfortunately, the order had already been processed and I have a pending charge on credit card, so there wasn't any way for them to adjust the order.

However, she said to wait one moment, and after putting me on hold for 5 min or so, she came back and offered to credit my account another $100,Only stipulation was that she had to move my contract starting date from last month to today. No issue with me! And she said I'm still be elegible for the MIR as well. Schweet!
