Re: Diamond payment?

Okl I am a homosapien of my word. This is what I did. After hearing about the deals retentions is giving, I decided to call and told them to cancel my morning online order and possibly terminate my contract. They asked me why and do I really want to cancel my service. I said yes because I need to get 2 diamonds and if I do then its going to cost me over 1000 dollars even with the $75 rebate. Then I said thst I really want the new iphone and 2 iphones will cost me 400 dollars. So money wise its a best route to take. She said to wait and she will talk to her supervisor. Anyways she calls me back 1 hour later and said. Since I have been a customer since 07 and they really value my business, they will give me 2 Diamonds for $ 500. Thats 249.99 each. I asked if its rebates and she said it is and she is doing them manually and dont worry I dont need to send them since she is doing them on the spot. I said thank you very much and send them over asap. So I went from $530.80 for 1 to $500.00 for 2. Thank you everyone fpr letting us know about calling telesales for the order. You can try this method too!. I dont know if its the reason of buying 2, but it worked. ! Now, I wonder whats going to happen when I return them for the Pro's. I hope they are as nice!

Very nice! I feel bad for the ppl who don't know about this alternative method. I preplanned for the Pro. When that comes out I would have already returned the diamond and I will tell them about my reason for my discount. In which was 2 iphones for under 500 dollars. And only reason Why I didnt terminate was because sprint gave me 2 diamonds for under 500$.

Re: Diamond payment?

I'm a noob but have known about the retention department for a while. I ordered the HTC Touch diamond about an hour ago for $199. Activation, upgrade, and overnight shipping have all been waived. **BTW, this price doesn't include the MIR. The phone may or may not come with it. Sprint rep said to mail in the MIR if indeed it comes with the phone. If it doesn't, I can't really complain. I think $199 is a really good price!!

They made me jump through maaaaaaany hoops for this phone since I have the old Free & Clear plan (been with sprint since 2000) and was told that my old plan won't work with this new phone. I know they were BS-ing me since I was able to order the Treo 800w a month ago without having to change anything on my plan (had to return it due to freezing issues with Windows Mobile).

I'm dreading having to activate this device over the phone and am hoping not to go through the same issues I did purchasing it. I'm sure they'll pull the same "oh we can't activate it because your plan isn't compatible with the phone." Has anyone gone through this same problem with Sprint?

Ordered the phone at 8am, was able to get it for 349.99+40(taxes)-100 (for renewing the contract)- 100 (when the invoice comes in i have to email ecare back and they well apply the mail in rebate) so over all the phone will cost me 190.
Shipping and activation fees waived.

Re: Diamond payment?

Called retentions for the second time, still being offered with 575$/2 phones plus MIR of 100 on one phone coz the other has been only 6 months in contract.
Here the breakdown:
Phone 1: contract expires nov 2009
Phone 2: contract expires aug 2010 (got a touch in feb 08, free airave last week but had to extend the contract)
basically i qualify for 75 on fone 2, given 200 off on fone one and 250 off thru retentions:
550*2= 1100-75-200-250=575/2 fones, when MIR comes thru, its 475/2 fones
I said pls notate all this on my account, i wud call back.
what do u guys suugest its good enough??? i am confused, cant resist!!

2 diamonds for 475.00 is NOT bad at all. Only complaint I would have is the rebate. You have to send it in right? For some of us they were nice to do it on the spot and no hassle of sending it in and waiting for it. I am sure if you call them back and nag a little you can get it as well. but over all you got a better deal than i did! So be happy I guess.

I chatted with 2 different agent but they were useless. I called CS and they said that even though my contract ended today i supposedly received a handset rebate last Sept. Long story but after a 1 hour phone call and threatening to cancel my service they agreed to sell me one for $506.31 after tax and then credit my account the $125 to bring it down to the $350 it should be. I also am eligible for $100 MIR so I am at $249 plus tax total.

There you go! Only issue is you didn't get the MIR on the spot. If you ask and tell them you serious in canceling they will do the MIR on the spot guaranteed.
