We have 3 sero lines here (all 3 signed up last September), and lucky for me, my line is the only one showing $150 (the other 2 are showing $75).

It's one of the numbers that came origianlly in my contacts on my replacement phone when I got it; Sprint Retentions 1(866)6810038.

Hope that works, I've actually never called it to check.

I'm having absolutely no luck with retentions.

I've had a few offers through them before, and I've got a negative balance at the moment, so this doesn't surprise me a bit. But anyone have any suggestions? I definitely don't want to pay full retail on that phone.

sprint was well aware people were using SERO that should not have technically gotten it, don't you think they would have closed up the savings@sprintemi.com loophole if they truly cared before?

IMHO I think it was/is a marketing ploy to get people to sign on thinking they are getting in on a great "exclusive" deal.. (btw it is a great deal) in order to bolster their declining customer numbers.. Take it as "free" advertizing, and it worked because it did/does get alot of new/old customers in.. sneaky..

you don't deserve any 'luck' with retentions. you have no legitimate reason to be calling them anyway. you are just a self important jerk who thinks that your wants outweigh anything else. you are exactly the type of person who SHOULD BE attacked on threads like this. what gall.

Re: Diamond retentions deals

I just got a Diamond for only $242 through retentions. I wanted to get a Touch Pro, but there's nothing they can do this early. I'll probably just return within the 30 days if I don't like the lack of a keyboard (I currently use a Mogul), and just get the TPro.

I really didn't expect much when calling, but now I'm really excited that I did!

Btw I am on SERO and have only had my account ~6 months. At first they offered me the $75 and $150 discounts, but it didn't really make it worth it for me.

Re: Diamond retentions deals

I ordered online, my contract was up on Sept 1.. I got the regular discounts and with tax my order was 378... then read all the great deals and felt like a smuck.. but I am also not the type to lie about leaving since I have no intentions of doing so. I called retentions and explained all that and asked for any help she could give me in making my final bill more in line with my long term service and truthfulness. (smile). She only gave me the $70 per line but gave me it for both lines and said I can still upgrade the other phone without having to wait the new 2yrs (other phone is due in Dec). That was good enough for me as after rebate my total bill with tax will be 138$ all charged/credited to my account. And my second line does not and has no intentions of upgrading phone so when/if I decided to get something later it won't have to be 2yrs from now, I can just switch phones out.

after you learn to spell, you should note that this is a forum and that all opinions don't have to be the same. people like me who are sick of crybabies trying to screw sprint and then brag about it and spread the news of their deceit have a right to say that whether you like it or not. being calm or not is irrelevant. sprint retentions is for legitimate retention deals, not a-holes trying to screw sprint and therefore, sprint customers.

Now back to the deals!

Thanks everyone! I was thinking about swapping out my Mogul for the Touch, but forget that, I will definatly be getting the TPro.

He told me that he will send me the rebate form and i may get lucky and get $100 off of that. I told him i wasnt sure yet, he said i should just sent him an email when im ready. What do you guys think $149 good?? (possibly even $49)

I'd say go for it. Then if you need a keyboard, swap it for the Touch Pro and pay the difference in MSRP.

Re: Diamond retentions deals

Dang...I've been with the $30/month SERO plan for just over 2 years and was lookin online for a sprint phone to upgrade to. I saw that sprint was offering my $150 to extend my contract another 2 years.

The Diamond was priced $350 after the $150 discount. An additional $100 rebate is available to bring the final cost of the phone down to $250 before tax.

I didn't want to spend that much so I looked at the phones in the $100 Range and picked out the HTC Touch.

It should arrive tomorrow and I'm wondering if I can call retentions and explain my story of how I couldn't justify spending what they were asking for the diamond but that I would really like something by HTC that is more up to date than the touch.

I'll post what happens :)

Re: Diamond retentions deals

I ordered on the 14th, didn't have a tracking number by the 17th. Called retentions and told them my girl ordered me an iphone on 15th and we got it on the 16th. Also mentioned att roll over family plan. I have power pack family 550 mins for 59.99 2 lines, plus free data. retentions rep added pick 3 on 2 lines, 300 txts 2 lines, nav 2 lines, data on all 3 lines and TEP ins on all 3, $10 recurring credit, total bill not to exceed 110.00 a month including tax. He stated my diamond order wasn't processed correctly, canceled it and reordered for next day air, and i received it the next day. He was suppose to call me back on 19th to finish setting new 3rd line account up and he never did. I called back in and argued with 2 different reps and a sup for over 2 hours. The sup wouldn't add everything the rep promised me. So i left a mssg with his operations manager and called back in again. The next rep gave me everything the previous rep promised PLUS, changed my plan to a retentions plan 1000 anytime mins for 49.99 and gave me 1000 txts on all 3 lines instead of 300 txts on 2 lines. Also set up pic mail on all lines no charge.

NEW BILL 3 LINES, UNLMTD DATA ON ALL 3,PICK 3 ON 2,NAV ON 2, SPRINT TV ON 2, 1000 TXTS ON ALL 3,TEP ON ALL 3,PIC MAIL ON ALL 3, N/W 6 OCLOCK. RECURRING CREDITS TO MAKE BILL 101.00 PLUS TAX.

Thank God that supervisor was an a-hole or I never would have gotten the extra 450 mins for 10 bucks less and the extra 2400 txts. :)

Re: Diamond retentions deals

Just got off the phone from Sprint...Originally, I had a Mogul, I contacted Sprint before my warranty expired to see about a replacement (loose stylus and some funky keys on the keyboard). After about a month of emails, calls, and escalations to managers and the dispute department, they offered to send me a new phone at no cost (and no contract extension). I opted for the HTC Touch, which I received 2 days later. It was a good phone, but I really needed wifi access while at work (Sprint coverage at work is very poor). So since it's within the 30 days of receiving the Touch, I contacted Sprint by email...they had no clue. I contacted them by phone, got to a dispute department, and after a few phone calls back an forth, they are allowing me to go into a Sprint store with the Touch, I will have to pay the $150 difference, trade with the Touch Diamond...and they are going to credit me the $150.

The moral of the story...When trying to get your way, be really nice, be persistent, and do not take no for an answer!

I'd take those words with a grain of salt. I've been told twice by eCare to go into a Sprint store to exchange my phone and they will credit me the money that I paid in difference after the sale. Both times I went to a regular Sprint store and a repair center, and they both denied me a new phone. eCare is nice to deal with, but they love to give you the run around (literally) by sending you to all the stores in your area.

Re: Diamond retentions deals

So my story as short as i can tell it:
I had bought a mogul (off eBay) in October of last year. I have a $20 everything plan because of where I work, so i never got upgrade qualifications. The Sprint Service store replaced my Mogul with a NEW in box one from the store 6 times in 7 months for little dumb things but I just had bad luck. Finally on the 6th one they let me take a NEW in box Touch from the store and no more mogul. They also for my issues customer care made me qaulified for a upgrade so I could get my phone any where. I used it for like 3 months and I won an Instinct from work so I thought I would sell the touch and use it. Now I sold the touch for exactlry what I paid for my mogul 9 months ago. The Instinct sucked so I gave it to my brother in law. I went to Best Buy Mobile and bought a new Treo 800w and kept it fopr 29 days and returned it once we had a real date on the Diamond. However Sprint could not reqaulfify my upgrade except through telesales. This made me mad since Best Buy is all instant savings and the have MIR. So the escalation dept told me to call once i got my diamond and they would help me. In the mean time I my brother inlaws old mogul. While activating it, Sprint screwed up my account. They thought it was the phone so they sent me a refurbished one (did not really care) and I had that for about 4 days because i had to soft reset it about 6 times a day. I took it in to the store and they gave me touch for it. On the 14th at 7am I had placed my order for the Diamond for $350 with $100 MIR. Also on top of that Sprint credited my account $150 plus $85 for all the issues. They are charging my account $350 -150-85= $115 for a diamond plus I still have the other touch which I sold for $250 and got a free Blackberry Curve for my wife at Best Buy and sprint gave me a $75 credit on my account for her line. So in the end here is what I got:
HTC Diamond $350
RIM Balcberry Curve + $Free
MIR -$100
$150 Credit for issues -$150
$85 credit for issues -$85
$75 retention credit -$75
old Touch -$250
(sold first touch to break even got instinct free and traded for touch)

Grand total after MIR is= I made $210 since I bought my Mogul back last october. Sprint is damn good company. And my total bill for both phones $70 bucks with EVERYTHING on both. And because of all te credits I have not paid a bill in at lest 3 months.

The initial contact was with eCare, all consecutive contacts were with the Order Support department on the phone. The rep called me back about 4 times to relate information, I just kept asking more questions. It was noted in their billing system, which is viewable by all Sprint retail locations. Of course, there can be a screw up, but this guy stuck with me...and had a supervisor by his side while he did all the researching and notating. WISH ME LUCK! :P

In addition...Sprint already credited my account (an odd amount which should have been 150) for the amount of -$166.74. So I think they have held up to their end of the deal, now I just have to hope that the Sprint Store will do the rest ;)

Re: Diamond retentions deals

for you guys that say you have had like 4 or 5 moguls / touches in the last few months, how are you getting sprint to exchange them? My touch is ~ 9 months old and the screen doesnt respond to my finger anymore, only stylus. I sent e-care an email to see what they could do for me, maybe make me a deal on a diamond. They told me my touch was not under a 1 year warranty (even though its 9 months old) and would only give me $75 off a new phone with contract extension. I Told them that the phone was less than a year old and thus under warrenty, and they told me to talk to HTC directly about a replacement.

I have TEP but theres no way im paying the deductible for a phone that has failed under warranty, especially since it is not damaged. I don't even care that much about getting a diamond (i'd rather pay to upgrade to the PRO), unless they offered it. But I want a phone that works, and I'm getting the run around.

How do you guys get so many phone exchanges?

Bring into a Sprint store w/ a repair center and they should replace the phone w/o a deductible. The deductible only applies to Asurion claims (lost/stolen/wet phone).

That's it, be nice and be persistent! Keep climbing the ladder until you get satisfaction. They still (the people that care about you being a customer) want you to stay, and will do a lot to keep you from canceling.

Don't forget, California's Term Fee case may eventually affect all of us, with the possible downside of higher equipment fees ;)
