Re: Diamond Reviews

ill agree i bought a Pro thinking I wanted the hard keyboard but i find it slower and more of a pain to slide it out to use and find typing short things on the screen still- maybe just habit from coming from the touch and then diamond.

also the hard keyboard on the Pro, the keys are a lot smaller than i expected and the mogul. they arent much bigger than the on screen keys to get your finger on and theres no space in between them so typing is slower than older HTC keyboards which were larger keys.

Probably returning the Pro even though $255 was a good deal, the 2 year resign wasnt at this point for it. IMO it feels a LOT larger than the diamond in feel, even though its not in specs, and it is a lot heavier. If you absolutely MUST have a keyboard the Pro is good, but the Diamond is much better to carry every day and much better built (Pro build quality is HIGHLY suspect at this time with raised dpads and blown earpieces and loose keyboard sliders (im already on my 3rd pro in a week)).

Re: Diamond Reviews

Got my telus diamond 3 days ago. I was initially VERY disappointed with the response time and lag. My intention with the diamond was to merge my cell phone and PDA (palm T3). Since this is largely for business use, speed of input and the number of clicks to get to what I need is a big deal. The T3 was instant and it had enough hard buttons that I could get to whatever app I needed instantly with a single press.

I flashed to Juicy's 3.2 ROM and it has made a world of difference for speed and battery life.

The diamond has all the hardware features I wnated and the form factor is brilliant. Now I just need to customize the UI to what I need.

Re: Diamond Reviews

I went into my local sprint store the other day to play with the Diamond. I have to say, I was kind of disappointed. The screen resolution is of course excellent. But the overall build kind of felt a little cheap to me. The D-Pad is pretty awful and the hard-key buttons are almost as bad. And I was kind of sad to find that the touch scrolling responsiveness is simply not better than the Vogue. So really the only upgrade is the increased screen resolution. I'm sure others love the phone, but it's just not really an upgrade in my eyes.

Re: Diamond Reviews

After playing with builds and becoming a cook myself I can say I will stay with my Diamond and I have my Diamond running fast and not over heating. Remember guys that the devices can do alot more than what the service providers stock rom releases

Re: Diamond Reviews

I must say THIS is an awsome Phone!!!
I went from the touch to mogul and now this.
I been debating for weeks between this or the pro.
I end up choosing this b/c i wanted a smaller phone
that will fit nicely in my pocket. Also i realize i rarely
use the keyboard on the mogul. So this was a better option for me.
Plus I got this phone for $188 on ebay with the live cashback compare to $450 for the touch pro.

I'm gonna list the problems i had with the mogul
-Slugish and unresponsive!!! (my number 1 pet peeve)
-Hassle to surf internet. (pages would take forever to load)
-Ram deficient (u can't do much with only 20mb of free ram)
-Big and Bunky and looks ugly
-When i call out it would take 5-10sec to connect to other person.
-Same for when i'm receiving a phone call.

now i'll list the pro's:
-RESPONSIVENESS! (i can dial phone # in without any lag now)
-SCREEN (its so sharp and clear compare to the mogul)
-OPERA (You can finally surf the net the way that its meant to be. This one blow skyfire out of the water, pages load in less then 10sec)
-RAM (I have 140mb of free ram WOW!!!)
-Call Responsive(When i place a call it connect almost instantly)
-Slick, small, and stylish

Now the con's:
-Battery life. (I hope as i use it more it gets better b/c it seem to drain very fast)
-Activation (i had some problems with the internet when i first got it. Wasted a good 2hr researching on ppcgeeks)
-Touchflo 3d (Cosmetic wise it looks awsome but function wise not so much, maybe cuz i'm so used to SPB mobile shell)

Conclusion:
If you are an owner of the mogul or touch and your tired of soft-reseting your phone everyday,
tired of the unresponsiveness, or having to close certain programs to use other ones. U need to check out this phone!
I can honest say this is a MAJOR step forward for the PPC community.
