Re: Diamond Reviews
I've used this site for a long time, but never given my 2 cents till now. Was introduced to the pocket PC world about 2 years ago when I got a 6700. Then upgraded to the Mogul last Feb, and got the Diamond on the 6th.....so far I'm pretty happy. I was very worried about the keyboard, but the onscreen seems to work decently (not great, but better than I anticipated). My microSD was 4 gigs, so I think I'll be fine with the internal mem. Honestly though, while most people seem to like the size of this phone, I would prefer it to be a little beefier....it just makes me too nervous. Still not 100% on if I'll keep it or go for the Pro, but damn that VGA is sexy!!!!!

Re: Diamond Reviews
My HTC Touch Cruise had a camera problem so I sent it back for repair. They actually couldnt fix it so I asked for an upgrade to the Diamond. I am glad I did. It has been excellent. With the onboard storage I have loaded up heaps of stuff and the good thing is that the speed of my apps etc is not affected. I found that when I installed apps to the micro card speed was a big issue. I really like the touch screen advances they have done in comparison to the Cruise. However it would have been good to be able to put Spb diary on the Today screen and not lose the Touch Flo 3D capability. Yes the battery does need to be regularly recharged but that is also because I do use it an awful lot during the day. In summary I think its excellent.

Re: Diamond Reviews
First a lil background.First ppc phone was sprint 6700,sprint touch, then i stepped out of the ppc game (for no reason) for a instinct which in turn was the worst phone i've had in a long time(a lil better than my nextel i930).So i got this thing some people might refer to as a touch diamond and it was love at first sight. The screen is amazing, the speed is fast compared to the touch and i think it's an improvement in every sense. Some people been complaining about the battery but mine's last all day plus at work(2:30 to 11:00pm).I surf the net maybe 1hr plus, two email accounts checking every 30 min.,alot of time on youtube, and various other games and apps running. If you remember to close and exit all programs your battery should be fine. Mines does get a lil hot because im on a stock sprint rom.Overall coming from the instinct im in love, and dont plan on cheating anytime soon.

Re: Diamond Reviews
I've had em all. This phone is a nice piece of machinery..But.. Sprint really screwed up when they decided to lock down touchflo3d. The available tabs are good.
1)Lack of storage WHy only 4 gigs ? Why not 16. The phone can handle it. 2)Inability of TouchFLO HTC apps to integrate and handle memory while sending control to other apps. 3)Inability to send large pictures taken with the camera to other carriers. idea: Resize images before they're actually sent ! Whooda thought of that ! 4)Manilla.exe errors when swithcing tabs too fast. This is suppose to be "SprintSpeed." 5)Lack of more than 1 or two appointments showing on the home tab. 6) Not sure if this is a device limitation or windows. But I like to have 6 email accounts on my device. Two business's. 7)Lack of screen sensitivity out of the Box. Inability to uninstall the sprint bloatware and help files. 9)Slowness of picture tab loading images. 10) Battery heating to the point of "what the heck is that in my pocket". 11) Battery life. 12) Lack of accessories. 13) No task lister. Here are the +'s Sexy screen ! Fast processor. Fast memory. Fast graphics. Excellent game play. Actually runs Quake3 unlike my mogul and touch and ppc 6700. So all in all, it's about what I expected from sprint. But way more than what I expected from HTC. Now if Sprint or HTC would jsut release the Manilla TF3D source code, I could make this phone perfect. |

Re: Diamond Reviews
My personal experience with the Telus Diamond has been quite satisfactory. It is very much like buying a new house where the builder completes 90% of the work and you must spend some time to complete the rest. The stock version misses some important features and performance tweaks that are covered quite nicely in this forum. After implement the changes, I have great battery life, stability and responsiveness.
I am a sales rep, and I mostly use the phone for business purposes. Talk (an hour on anverage), text, email (no email push:I am not imporant only need to check it every two hours), 30 min to an hour checking on my sorry financials, total 10-15 minutes on google map to find my way. The phone usually end the day before I go to bed at 30-50% battery. Tweaks that helped me: Advance config: improved performance (enable scrolling wheel on many apps was hugh) Battery fix A2U2: I only use it for answering calls to prevent accidental calling. Very responsive and no battery drain. PRL Update I don't have time for all other multimedia stuff so I can't comment. But as a useful phone for a business professional, I really like it. Easy to text, small profile. Telus, although not perfect, has by far the best reception in rural BC. No problem with call quality. My only knock is the quality of hte hardware buttons. They should be able to get away with a good scrolling wheel. Hope this helps. RJ |

Re: Diamond Reviews
Had a chance to play with Diamond and I was surprised at how tiny it was. I see why HTC decided to create the Touch HD. I just think they could have made the screen bigger while keeping the slim factor. I hope the Touch Pro is a little bigger screen wise
