Re: Sprint Plans for the Diamond

again, I work for Sprint. The reason the Instinct requires an everything plan, is because its advertised as the ultimate multimedia device. Which is why they require the unlimited data plan. Is it necessary to me? not really, but it was Sprints marketing decision, and its seemingly effective seeing as how we sell about 20 of those babies a day lol.

I agree with the 800w point. I do not think Sprint will require anything else but the normal data plan add-on just like any other non-Instinct Smartphone. (the instinct isnt even technically a smart phone). Its possible that they could, but, I highly doubt it.

<soapbox>its all about trends. the people that are leaving are leaving because they are following the trend others have set. no real reason. If you really sit back and do plan versus plan. you will not get better then sprint. its just a shame that the first few hundred left because of poor CS and the other thousands left because they saw everyone else leaving.

Sprint is a great company plan wise, Even these ne wplans you say sprint is forcing on customers. SERO got out of hand because newspapers started writing articles on it. It was plans below cost value. That would put sprint dead in the water faster then all the customers leaving. The fact they got rid of it and are still selling package plans cheaper then any other carrier goes to show you sprint is not trying to screw anyone.

the simple reason you think sprint is forcing people is because you think sero was an open thing for anyone to try. it was meant for reps to give out special referals to friends for a discount. not for joe smoe to go sign up 10 different accounts with the same employee email. you are taking sprint for granted and are now upset when they release new, yet still fair, plans. that makes all of you criticizers feel real big huh.</soapbox>

P.S. I have had my bad dealings with C.S., but I will never leave for the simple reason I can't afford to shell out more, and no, I am NOT on SERO and never wanted to be.
I agree with most of what you said, but financially Sprint is in a struggle to stay afloat, which worries me.

The big question is (not that I'm cynical or anything) does "here" mean physically in the building or available to the public and for sale??

Re: Sprint Plans for the Diamond

Sprint also made you change plans for the instinct because it had the wierd viocemail. But i like the new plans and i see a lot of customers that don't use the internet that see the new plans and are all like SWEET! They change in a heart beat to the new plans. The Share plans with data are nice for people. But as a consumer and someone that works hard for their money i prolly would only use the 700 talk plan with my wife. I would also use a plan and simple phone.

Back on track with the Diamond and the price plans. I am not sure but i think that you have to switch to the new plans. Which are not bad, but i also look at it as. If you have a nice PDA phone why not have the internet and text messages. I see so many people that want a centro with no data, it makes me cry seeing people that don't want to use the internet on a phone like that. You gotta use it or loose it!

actually if you look into sprints finacial background. Sprint is the only cell phone carrier that owns their own money. No real big loans, thats why sprint just sold a ton of towers. Also companies like att all their money goes to paying their lowns. Sprint is not going anywhere.

Re: Sprint Plans for the Diamond

i can't see phone specific plans for the Diamond or Pro. It is afterall "just" a PDA unless that are going to try to charge for specific features.

This isn't really in the same category as the instinct though.
That's a mainstream phone. This is a PDA, and thusly I'll be suprised if they do much advertising for it at all.

Re: Sprint Plans for the Diamond

"Sprint Nextel - 125 retail locationsNew Sprint Nextel CEO Dan Hesse appears to have inherited a company bleedingsubsc ribers by the thousands, and will now officially be dropping the ax on 4,000 employees and 125 retail locations. Amid the loss of 639,000 postpaidcustomers in the fourth quarter, Sprint will be cutting a total of 6.7% of its work force (following the 5,000 layoffs last year) and 8% ofcompany-owned brick-and-mortar stores, while remaining mute on other rumorsthat it will consolidate its headquarters in Kansas . Sprint Nextel sharesare down $2.89, or nearly 25%, at the time of this writing."

Yeah Sprint is Fine they are laying off people because they are making so much money. Good call on not going anywhere. They are banking on the instinct getting them back in the game, if not I see a T-Mobile/Sprint mereger in a year or so. (The last part of the merger is a rumor and oppinion, the rest is FACTS
