Can a Xandroid Diamond connect to WifiRouter?

I can't seem to find this out anywhere. I have my nonactivated Diamond running Android. I'd like to connect to my Touch Pro2 using wifirouter so that I can have data access anywhere I go. The wifi router programs can only set up a WEP network, which my Diamond is not recognizing, it seems to only see WAP. Anyone know if this is possible?
