I unlocked my GF's dad's diamond before, and he wound up going in and replacing it for the Instinct. When they went to move his contacts from the Diamond to the Instinct, they told him they couldn't do it because he was using a pirated version of WM. So i would imagine a simple ESN swap should be fine, but if they want him to move his contacts over, there could be some problems.

doesn't look like I'll even sell my diamond, the only reason was I was thinking of getting a pro2 but my diamond does fine and I think ill hold out for the HD2 cdma or when that proves fruitless get a GSM one.
