Nice Post

I just read the post. Nice job. The forums here dont seem to get alot of attention and (no insult intended) these seem to be all dumbed down from the XDA forum which I think is a good thing. So keep on translating what we get from XDA and any personal experenice we have and may grow these forums to a second source for wing users.

I plan on it. I actually use this site more than XDA because it is easier to understand. I am not a guru with this kinda stuff... my forte is guitars/amps/audio gear and music haha not comp/phone tech. I know enough to get me by fairly well tho.

This is a free audio converter that I use. It is a good freeware program. I am assuming you have one to cut and trim the audio files. Btw, I would recommend using mp3's instead of wav's.. wav's are not compressed so they are HUGE file compared to mp3's and realistically speaking.. if you set the compression mode to only lightly compress... you really won't be able to tell a damn bit of difference... not from your phone anyways. I can because I have trained ears for that lol... but even I can't tell the difference from my phone. Btw, I dunno if you've seen the registry hack or not... but there is one that will let you play ringtones from your storage card, not your device. That will also save you a lot of room.

http://www.any-audio-converter.com/download.php

Also, here is the registry hack to allow ringtones from your storage card.

Allow Ringtones from Micro SD Card
HKCU\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\Ring\Directory:\ Windows\ => \Storage Card\
** Need to create a folder on your SD card, named “My Ringtones” (Thanks for dakrnguy4u). Otherwise it won’t work

I took that from this post in the XDA forums.

If i dont need to convert them than all i need is a chop shop for my mp3's. I havent started messing around with the registery edits yet. Kind gives me the creeps thinking about it , but I havent devoted much time to reading on it. Ill keep that post tho, we need all the room we can get. what would you suggest for chopping mp3's into ringtone and alert size's (as in seconds of play time)?

You can check out both of these. They are both fairly good and have their ups and downs... but I prefer audacity. Just a personal preference.

I posted the links but I forgot to quote you. Btw, reg edits are very simple as long as you follow the instructions completely to a T. If the reg edit leads you to a subfolder that isn't there, then don't do it. Also, don't go ape shit and put them all on. Only change what you feel you need to change. That is about all the advice I can give you as far as reg edits are concerned. Just make sure you use the program I have in that wing apps post since the program is WAY better than Total Commander... or at least for me it is.
