Sense 3.5 port?
Can someone port sense 3.5 to the HTC arive? the UI sucks... i would love to see quick 2.8.414 (www.alensw.com) menu on here as well. oh.. and how about a new ver of slide to unlock :-)

Re: Sense 3.5 port?
only way to see sense is to use the HTC Hub. and I'm sorry but the UI does not suck, its actually the best UI I've ever used, to see all this information at a glance without having to open an app is brilliant, and I also love watching the tiles flip.

You are gonna have to go to a HTC android device for sense, WP7 doesn't support it.

Re: Sense 3.5 port?
I have a feeling that this is going to be a wp7 bash thread in which should be watched by a mod like @Tinkerbell

if we had more developer interest and alternative UI's such as sense 3.5 id consider getting wp7. i agree with the OP.

i don't think anyone is bashing wp7 eric. most of us came from winmo where we had lots of options and themes. no offense but you seem to be the only member here that's even sticking up for the OS. it's too locked down/ dummed down for most of our tastes. now that's not bashing it, just my opinion. the bottom line is, if devs wanted to port sense they would have already. |

care to share a link to that UI your talking about because i cannot find it anywhere. |
Re: Sense 3.5 port?
There is a simple solution. How important is sense ui to you. It it is very important then get an android device. Common sense would tell you that "I dislike the current UI" will cause less problems than "The UI sucks". Both statements deliver the exact same message, the difference is that one is giving your opinion while the other is trolling.
Having a ui which I hate is a major issue and I would avoid the OS. |

I came from 3 WinMo devices and I'll stand by it(WP7). I agree,I don't think anyone is bashing WP7 and its locked down for now, but it's an infant OS and customization will come soon. I loved working on my phone more than I used it. I enjoy being "dumb" right now because it "works" I do get tired of the wife who complained about my phone obsession, asking for help now w/ her EVO & EVO3D. Sense was really cool w/WinMo but don't miss it as far as function vs. the woo factor of "windshield wipers slappin out the tempo". I'm glad we have choices. Everyone wins! It all comes down to personal choice. For me, as an artist, I miss the visual customization, but "Mango" has implemented everything I was missing as a daily driver. Only the end user decides what is best for them. That's why I no longer recommend phones to friends. |

there are no devs interested, that why it is not being developed. |

Re: Sense 3.5 port?
I am a die hard windows Fan boy.. I don’t like where Microsoft has gone with the mobile devices and in my office I am 1 of like 200 ppl that still has a windows mobile device. If someone can port over angry birds they can port over sense 3.5 to the WinMo7.. To be honest.. If someone came out with a 6.5.3 ROM that was on this phone I would be happy with just the speed increase over my TP2.

question: do u even have this phone? cuz to me ur sounding like somebody who only read about wp7,watched videos or just thumbed through a device in a store. all of these are very insufficient to get an ideal of how wp7 operates |

I have a friend with it.. I wanted to get a custom rom on it before i got it.. the funny thing is that the sprint buy back is set to 0$ lol.. I really want to but this phone but wont till someone hacks it.. I have used other WM7 phones as well and hope that the new one comes out before 12/31/11 so i can use my credits to get it because sprint is going to discontinue the 150 towards a new phone on that date. I also have my 300 renewal credit so i have a total of 450 off a new phone before that date.. sont want to waste it on the fake touch pro 3.. :( Cant wait to see what nokia and Microsoft has coming up for us.. |
Re: Sense 3.5 port?
knowing a friend who has one is still insufficient because it's likely that u had thumbed through that too all the upcoming wp7 phones so far are destined for GSM carriers this is one of the reasons y I'm going to t-mobile, the other reason I've been very vocal about lately.

in case you haven't heard the nokia line is not shipping in the US at first. i bet it will be well into 2012 before they do. there isn't a high demand for nokia over here. |
Re: Sense 3.5 port?
I used the phone enough to know what its all about... and yeah.. I see that it may not hit the US till early 2012 :-( Ill just wait and see.. the N9 is still not as powerful as the 4S and i haven’t seen all the specs on the M800 yet.. so ill have to wait like everyone else over the next few days and keep my eye on cnet UK to see what comes up.. I hope that they made a M800 with a physical kb cause i send over 7000 text a month and the on screen kb will be a bad thing for me..

What does mango have to do with wanting an alternative UI? you do understand people like wp7 but hate metro. Nothing wrong with more choices. Id never own a phone i couldnt customize to my liking. Hell even webos can be totally themed. |
Re: Sense 3.5 port?
only those who are attached to sense hate it but not most other wp7 users on wpcentral, neowin, pocketnow and such.

Re: Sense 3.5 port?
your a tough cookie eric, i give you props for sticking up for wp7. shame i don't see more members doing the same.

Re: Sense 3.5 port?
My wife and I have an Arrive, she loves it and is coming from a Touch Pro. I am coming from a Touch Pro 2. The only thing I miss from my Touch Pro 2 is WiFi sharing and its worldphone capability when I travel.
Other than that, I don't miss restarting it every day, nor do I miss the slowness of Sense and the general laginess. The phone just works and I don't have to mess with it. One of my friends switched to the Arrive from her TP2, and another switched from an Android device because they got sick of all the lag, and slowness. They love their WP7s. Now, I myself dig the Metro UI. Wish I had some more customization like additional colors or backgrounds, wifi sharing. But the phone works great, quick, responsive, sometimes i'll restart it after a week because I want to feel the nostalgia from the old WM days. |

One day i may give wp7 a whirl i dunno. |

you should, who knows you might love it. @gullzway is considering trying it and i think @TexasAggie97 is regretting switching to android but im not sure. another thing is on one of the first articles about wp7 half of the members of this site bashed it but once they tried it they fell in love with it |
Re: Sense 3.5 port?
verizon only has one phone and im not sure if i want to or not at this point.

Re: Sense 3.5 port?
Well Verizon was seen at the Nokia World a few days ago, which would lead me to believe that Verizon may very well be getting a Nokia device Q1 2012. If not, im sure Verizon/Sprint should be getting another HTC device of some sort.
I would wait for a 2nd gen device to hit before renewing your contract. Or you could always buy a 1st gen device and turn around and sell it to purchase a 2nd gen. |

verizon doesn't seem very interested in wp7 from what im hearing and seeing. yeah ill be waiting until after x-mas to see what devices come out. my contract is until june 2013 so whatever i buy will be full price. ill be skipping the trophy, ive heard it has really bad battery life and no ffc. |

Re: Sense 3.5 port?
I played with an HD7 in a t-mobile store in Chicago and it was a great device had a nice solid feel to it,its just a lil bit smaller than the titan. I also got a speed of 21mbs on 3G which is faster than sprint wi-max and that's just sad.

Hd7 is a solid phone and you can run android if you want to play. |
Re: Sense 3.5 port?
a mid level Sprint employee informed me a month ago that the rumor around sprint was a a new wp7 phone was scheduled for late January.
she has historically been nicely accurate with her "rumors" |

If wp7 had sense 3.5 as an option id buy one. |
