Re: Arrive headphone volume problem confirmed

I haven't had a particular issue with volume, but going to keep an ear out. I have noticed if I try to plug it into an amplified Aux port while playing on Zune it tends to kick into voice command mode instead of pausing.

Re: Arrive headphone volume problem confirmed

I just sent 4 different video formats to my phone (m4v, mov, avi, and mpeg4) and all played fine. None were in DD5.1 format. So I would assume that either the format is the problem or your phone specifically.

usually DD5.1 soundtracks are downmixed to stereo when played back on a device that can't support it and it may be that conversion which messes up the sound quality.

Was this a Zune coversion issue then?

Honestly, I could barely hear the dialog and only if I rammed the earpieces into my ear to keep background noise at my gym out! Even then, it was just a whisper, although without the headphones, in my office, the dialog was completely audible.

Well I tried watching the exact same movie file with my Epic and I could clearly hear the dialog. Seems I received an Arrive with a defective headphone jack?

Did anyone else have this problem with their Arrive headphones and the low volume? I have seen posts on Microsoft's help site about podcasts being near inaudible.

First off, just because you seem to have this problem does not mean it is a "confirmed" issue for everyone. Just wanna throw that out there.

Second, does this problem only happen with that movie? For instance, does your music sound fine? How about youtube videos?

Third, I've had no problems with the headphones on my Arrive. I take it to the gym and they work just fine for tuning out the background noise.

Fourth, that's quatro in Spanish.

Fifth, you have been beating the whole "OMG TEH EPICZ IS SO MUCH BETTTTTER" lately, so I do kind of take your post with a grain of salt.

Sixth, I'd say it could be a codec issue, especially considering what everyone else has said.

You've got a thanks coming for that bro... Op doesn't even have an Arrive anymore.

well I have a problem with the volume also. With Zune its fine. But with slacker and netflix, which I figure was a problem with there apps specifically, its so low I stopped tryin to use them. I use the arrive headphones, and was goin to go by some better ones . Just so its known, I use these with a pretty loud background..

Re: Arrive headphone volume problem confirmed

yea BT headphones can get really loud and will solve any volume issues whether perceived or confirmed.
