Yupp...
Luckily the workaround that Eric metioned works without the need for layers of filters or otherwise.
This is not Android and mentioning or comparing it to... Well just doesn't help the OP.

Don't take it the wrong way either... I was an M$ fanboi and now have an EVO... I feel ya. But we are trying to help the OP.

it's a stupid hassle though. at least in android, you can choose to filter out certain contacts (either by sorted 'folder', or by contacts that have #'s)

its not a hassle at all. it takes 45 seconds to create a new email account vs having to create separate folders and such which probably takes longer, nice try.

Thanks for all the help guys! It took me a few days, but I manually entered them all, and got to slim down my list a bit to!

I know Ive read on here somewhere that I need to do a CSV file? Can someone put this into simple terms, using baby steps for me?

Is there any other way to do it?

Check back with your local Sprint Store or another Sprint store all together. My local Sprint store transfered by contacts in 2 minutes.

I could not get my calendar.csv extension file to open in hotmail/Windows Live, only in Gmail. I just re-keyed all Calendar dates past-future.

Wirelessly posted (Htc Arrive: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows Phone OS 7.0; Trident/3.1; IEMobile/7.0; HTC; T7575))

Tell them to "HTC pro 7"..

u can also link ur hotmail to Gmail and then the contacts will sync that way too, that's what I did.

Sorry I didn't look at this thread earlier, but I will give my input for others:

Download and install SPB Backup and use in the trial mode then download and install the SPB desktop backup file unpacker to get your contacts on your computer. Did I miss what the challenge was with ordinary syncing?

Also, I wanted to say that I had all kinds of problems with having a little over 5,000 contacts with the TP2, including not being able to use Sense ever and interference from the HTC People App after that, but not as bad and couldn't figure out how to disable the People App. The Arrive handles them, seamlessly, I am very happy to say.
