I'm gonna get back to work so a couple more items save with your OEMizer ini and i'll have it out later tonight.
REPLYADDR seems to be the correct place to put the email address.... perhaps just change the label in the UI to be "e-mail address"?

Thanks for the other fixes.... I'll have to download and try that out now

Thumbs up

OK, I just downloaded 1.2.3 and here's my findings (yes, sometimes I'm a nit-picker )
  • In POP3/IMAP4 config:
    • NAME still gets output as my email address (I'm not sure which field it's populating from as my REPLYADDR and AUTHNAME are both my email address)
    • The SMTPALT* attributes aren't tabbed over as far as the rest. I know it's minor and visual only, but like I said above...
  • In Mail2Web/Exchange:
    • The <characteristic type="Connection"> and associated </characteristic> tags are tabbed over one too far. Again, minor
    • I needed PeakFrequency to be -1 (sync as mail arrives), but without a UI item for that, 0 is a more sensible default.
    • <parm name="BodyTruncation" value="-1"/> has the same space/bandwidth issues as IMAP4 (I think)
    • <characteristic type="PeakDays"> has tab issues that make it look like the </characteristic> tag is misplaced for it.
    • In <characteristic type="Mail">, MailBodyTruncation and MailFileAttachment default to download it all... my personal opinion is still that 5k max body and no attachments is more sensible.
The Sync section is obviously more complicated than the EMAIL2 is. There's about a thousand settings listed at http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa455976.aspx (I know, I exaggerate).

PS. Please don't take the nit picking as demands or anything of the sort. I appreciate the time you've already taken to put this together; however I also know that accurate and detailed bug reporting is essential to improving a program. I wouldn't have taken the time to put together this list if I didn't think your utility was worthwhile .

--1.2.4
-Added "Full Name" to POP3/IMAP4 section. (fixes both name and username being the same)
-Fixed alignment of the provxml templates for pop3 and exchange settings.
-Added "Donate" link to About.

That should about do it for pop3 I think.
I'll get back to work in Exchange tonight and add a few more options.

one small idea for the exchange part is if you can set it up to do cert importing as well so those of us with a custom ssl cert can be fully setup that way too would be awesome

OK. I feel stupid. Maybe this will help someone else not have to admit they are stupid. I have been checking the boxes in OEMizer, but I never once (well OK, now once) clicked ON THE NAME OF THE SETTING, so I never saw anything other than the GUI for the first setting: OEM Info. I kept wondering how to input any real personal information.

So: Don't just check the box, click on the name, and Voila: Individual input GUIs for each item. Duh

The only way to get it to use the Black theme seems to be to select another theme and then switch back.
This seems to be caused by a conflict in the Additional Themes OEM for the registry entries in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today. Commenting those out in additional themes seemed to fix it. Probably not anything you can do about it in OEMizer.....

I use CAcert certificates on my exchange server so I had to import their root cert into my ROM. If you'd like to use their certificates (they're free!!), you can simply use that OEM. If not, you can make your own .provxml filling it with what these instructions from Microsoft tell you to put in _setup.xml.

The problem is not that it's being overwritten, it's that OEMizer uses an init reg entry for cusTSK that isn't properly being executed in WM6 .7. The reason it works when including "Additional Themes" is because that OEM includes a startup link to cusTSK which changes to the theme you have overwritten with your personal OEM on first startup.

As you noticed, the correct theme was selected in the Today settings, but cusTSK hadn't been executed to actually change it.

The init method seems to work in WM5 and WM6 .42, but not .7. I'm trying to not have to include a link or additional exe that users don't add themselves, so hopefully we can find a fix for init.

I have tried a bunch of time to get the email to migrate and it doesn't work. Maybe I am doing something wrong.
I fill out the pop3 info
make sure the box is checked
everything shows up on the phone except the email.

Is there anything in your .provxml file?
If not it may be something as simple as missing the save button after entering your settings.

If there is info in there, could you pm me a copy with your email and password(s) deleted?
