It tries to delete the temp folders (created when you import a cab) on exit. I'll see what I can do for next release. Probably a side-effect of switching to expand.exe instead of the dll i was using. Doesn't break anything though for now.

Instructions say to unzip the exe and the dll to the tools folder......there is no dll in the zip file, just the exe and a help file. Also, these files already exist in my tools folder......are they earlier versions included with the kitchen?

1.3.2 is in the kitchen. 1.3.5 is the latest which no longer uses the dll.

I just updated both references to the dll so there's no more confusion.

Version numbers can always be found by looking at the properties of the exe, or on the titlebar of OEMizer when running it.

What does this application do to the kitchen.....is there a screenshot that shows us?
Is there a reference on how to use this tool? I have 3 stand alone apps that I'd like to import to my kitchen, and a bunch of personal settings I don't necessarily want to lose on a hard reset.

i find it most useful to create shortcuts to applications that are in my storage card that dont require an installation (they just run even after hard resets, etc) and saves me a lot of space on the kitchen to try out other software that will not run without registry settings, etc.

It will take you about an hour after playing around with it to figure out how to use it, i dont think there is a HOW-TO yet for it. (correct me if am wrong).

I'm reading thru the help file with the program running..........I found that it ain't enough to clik the checkbox, you have to actually clik on the text next to the box to open it's dialog for editing.....THAT tool me 10 min to figure out!!! heheheheh

Looks good in theory, but it's too much for me right now...........I need to play with it. Can I "build" an OEM and then edit it later or would I always need to start from scratch?

You can build a personal OEM, and because it is mostly reg changes you can edit the .rgu file directly without going through the OEMizer. This does assume you have a working understanding of a Windows registry and know how to manipulate it. Its a good learning experience for newbies but I would also use us as sounding boards before you go flipping your registry around. It could screw the phone and cause you to hard reset.

A great tool to obtain to help in this is called Registry Workshop. It allows you to edit your phones registry from your PC, thru a usb connection. It also allows you to compare a registry, both pre and post change. Its invaluable as I made customizations to my phone.

There's a remote registry editor from MS that I think comes in the WM6 SDK (I don't remember which package installed it) or another very simple and free one here.
Both work over the activesync/WMDC connection and I've tried them both on Vista 64bit so I'm sure they'll work on other windows versions.

Another tool I use is WinDiff since neither of the free remote registry editors have a compare feature.
