Took out battery and now phone wont turn on?

phone was beeping saying sd card was removed. (it was still there.)

i removed the battery, and put it back in. bu the phone wouldnt turn on. i tried to reset it by using the stylus in the hole at the bottom of the 6700. Nothing

i got home, and plugged it in. it turned on, and was rebooting.

WHY did it not turn on w/o being plugged in? Is there a fix?
