My phone number is wrong!

When I go into Settings, Phone, the number on the top of the screen is wrong. Two of the number are transposed. My voicemail was wrong but I was able to edit this. I cannot change the Phone numer.

My phone still rings on my number.

About 2 months ago I replaced my phone under insurance. I know the tech spent some time setting it up. Could he have screwed up? I am not sure I woudl have noticed and only noticed last night.

I have upgraded to WM6 and 141 radio but I can't see how that cold have had any effect.

Can I possibly change this myself or do I have to go to Sprint.

Thanks

youll need your msl code, then go to ##778#, and edit it from there, if you dont have your msl code theres two ways of gettin it that i know of, 1 is calling your provider and askin for it for programming reasons, or theres a program floating around on this forum that i used to get mine.

I have the MSL Apache program

all you need to do is find your HEX ESN (under the battery on the sticker)
Extract to a folder on your device, then run the exe (not the 2003 one)
Put in your ESN and SHAZAM! theres ur MSL

Good luck!

Okay,
I got my MSL and did the ##778#. I was able to View and my MDN is wrong though my number is correct in all other locations. The problem is that when I choose the Edit option, I am asked for an access code.

Is there a way past this?

hello

have u tried just reprogramming the phone? I've seen this before with Sprint....that's what we had to do.

the access code is the msl number, go to edit, enter in that msl number, reenter your MDN, it will restart your phone, and all will be well

I second that. it's the same procedure as programming the # in the first place. . I had that happen with a Sammy A920 after an ESN swap. I mis-entered the code and wound up calling god knows who's # and I had to edit it. It also works for the 6700. I had my current 6700 programmed before the Sprint support tech could tell me what to do, once I had the msl. Once you have the number, it's not any harder than setting up a password.

I've tried 000000 and my MSL. No luck.
Thanks

Okay, here's what to do. I tried this on my own phone, and it works. When I activated my ebay PPC a few weeks back it was this procedure.

On the phonepad type in ##yourMSL#. Edit should bring up only two numbers. The top one is where the "wrong" # should be.The bottom one is labeled MSID. Select it and edit it to your ten digit number. OK will soft-reset the phone and it should be fixed.

**NOTE: the "wrong" number is probably a transition number left over when they(you) programmed it to your line.

This phone is a Sprint purchase and replace phone. It was set up at the store about 2 months ago. Until a few days ago, I never knew my MSL.

That said, entering ##yourMSL# does nothing. I think I am down to a *2 call.
