Boy what a dubious honor.

OK the initial way I entered the BL was to use the Enter BL program which i had copied to my flash card.
I plugged it into the usb (the BL screen changed from Serial to USB) then I ran the Sprint Rom installer for wm6.
The installer progressed to about 99 percent.
Then displayed an error stating I would need to attempt the install again.
When I looked at the pda screen it said update complete.
I pressed the soft reset button
The screen went blank and thats where I am.

I have tried the mtty and exit bootloader program thinking that perhaps its still in BL even though the screen is blank. No Luck both report that it cannot open the usb.

I have tried the sprint update APA_SPCS_20600_303_12700_WWE_Ship.exe which runs for a bit then gives me the message This update is not designed for your device (Error 150)

I have tried the Helmi Helmi_APAC_Official_AKU3_5_Kitchen_1_0_4.rar file no luck same issue.

I have tried the no id patch on several roms with similar results. Either 150 (not designed for your device) or 101 no connection.

My computer gives usb device not recognized (I am running xp sp2). I have tries 2 cables and 2 laptops. No luck.
The charge light no longer comes on unless the battery is removed (blinks red) or the battery has been out for a while, solid red then stops).

Hard reset (two dash buttons and a reset) does not work.
BL command (power + record + reset) does not work.

Banging my head against the table, does a great vibrate mode simulation though.

yeah hard reset and soft reset aren't going to work because for all practical purposes you dont have an operating system on there... bootloader may have been affected by whatever bootloader program you are using (Ive never heard of any bl program, just use power, record, reset)

Now when you try to go into bootloader you are hitting power/record/soft reset pin all at the same time right? It's not 1 + 1 + 1, its simultaneous.

Do you get a response from the hardware buttons i.e., you press power and it actually turns on and off?

101 error just means without disconnecting try it again, have you? And (without disconnecting) just tried it again with the 150 error?

"then I ran the Sprint Rom installer for wm6" <<< not sure what you mean by this, there is no sprint rom installer for wm6.

By blank screen what do you mean exactly... is it stuck on the white screen, is it off...?

I just mean the sprint flavor of the Hemli rom.

Yes I am pressing all the buttons at once, and I tried disconnecting and reconnecting.

The unit is basically unresponsive, its not stuck on a white screen it appears off.

It's possible that the phone simply had a hardware failure. Do you have insurance? If so, I would see if you can get it replaced. What's the worst they can say - No?

I agree with bedoig. They cant tell what you were doing... worst comes to worst, tell them you tried a hard reset, wouldn't work so you tried to flash with an official ROM. They cant turn that down. If you dont have insurance, you just pay like 35-55 bucks. No questions asked.

I am very surprised anything like this happened. I honestly didn't think it was possible to fubar this device... it seems pretty hefty for getting out of tight situations.

Im going with hardware failure. The chances of ONE of these phones failing after so many have flashed to a helmi (GOD) rom is very slim. I guess your phone failed at the wrong time XD

Good luck! Hope it all works out for you. however i could go for a nice paperweight... =]
