ICS over Bluetooth - Speeds >300kbps?
After recently reading a post indicating a certain user was getting speeds around 500 kbps over bluetooth, it made me wonder why I have never been able to get speeds like that. I always see speeds around 280 kbps when I tether through BT. Back to back testing with USB has shown the full speed of my connection to be usually ~600 kbps (normal for EVDO). I know the theoritcal speed of bluetooth 1.x is something like 700-1000 kbps, but I have never seen anything above 300 tethering to multiple computers over the years. Has anyone else gotten speeds above 300 kbps with their Apache over bluetooth? If so are you using the orignal bluetooth stack? Thanks,
Brian P.S. I searched for 30-45 minutes and couldn't find any other meaningful discussion on this. |
Are you tethering via wmodem (using BT DUN) or via Internet Sharing (using BT PAN)? All I can say is try both to see if you can spot any differences in speed.
If you don't have Internet Sharing on your phone you should upgrade your ROM to one of the custom ones offered here that does have that app built in. |
I have tried everything to tether my 6700 through BT so i can use it as a modem. It will find the device, but it only gives me a serial connection option. i've looked at all the instructions on the internet for hooking it up, no help. I've tried wmodem and ICS with no luck. HOW IS IT DONE?? i closed active sync, searched for device, but computer will not find the modem.
Someone Please help. |
