People selling kitchen-based ROMs

As you can see people are advertising it. I am removing it off now.. If you would like to contact this person go for it. I will be in the morning.. Also there are a few others I'm trying to get as well.. This is what i was talking to you about earlier.

The Microsoft and Apple police will be after him in short order! You can fool around with this stuff yourself, but when you try to sell it to others, THEY GOTCHA!

FOR THE RECORD

Selling the ROMs made from Helmi's kitchen is strictly prohibited, not only by helmi and those of us who work on the kitchen, but also by Microsoft and HTC. Fact is, these ROMs do not belong to any of us. The operating system is LICENSED by Microsoft to the devices. Our ROM kitchen and custom ROMs stand on very shaky legal ground as it is, and the only reason we are not "ceased and desisted" out of existance is because none of us is profiting off of this work. If we started selling kitchens and ROMs you can bet that would attract attention from Microsoft and their lawyers.

I think and hope everyone here appreciates the fact that we're able to offer the kitchen and custom ROMs here and that Microsoft has been largely "laissez-faire" about it up until now. If you want to see that continue then please do your part to stop people from selling this stuff. Donations for time spent are one thing, but commoditizing the product is the quickest way to make sure that nothing further will be released.

Helmi has provided his time and expertise here to us without getting anything in return. I personally have not collected a single cent from anyone here. So why should "Joe Jackass" from Portland here make a profit from it? The answer is he shouldn't, and I hope you all can see why. Please help police this, because if it gets out of hand we're all going to pay the price.

Right i agree with what you had to say when you spoke with me.. As i stated though there are a lot of people selling this cricket rom it really is driving me nuts. I have already removed all links that are posted to it and reqested for it to be deleted from the hosting company..

It's people like this that are pissing me off I spent a lot of time specially on all the graphic work that was put into that rom to make it look like a cricket phone for some jack ass to sell it for 70+ dollars as a flash file.....

posted his phone number on the internet.... I wonder what continuous sms requests to the same phone number would do. Ya know just wondering.

hmm, i didnt look but for 2 seconds, but is it possible he was just offering his services to people for free? i didnt see a price...

I work in a restaurant and whenever i see someone with a 6700 i offer to put my custom rom on it for them, i carry my tablet with me in my car for media purposes

. So maybe he was just doing this but on a larger scale?

Yes it is possible,
but highly doubt it as well. Seeing that he is on, one of three boards that this is posted on. He just replaced the picture with just a CRICKET logo.. Text is still the same...

On the side note he still shouldnt be offering my ROM as a service. He never had permission from me in the first place. Most people do not advertise on cragslist for free service like that. There looking to make some money.....

Apparently that guys number is no longer in service as of today.... I called this morning no one picked up. Now I call and its been disconnected lol
