White screen - no other display!

Today when I finished a phone call, the screen on my HTC Apache (Verizon) turned white and it's been white ever since. I've tried soft reset, hard reset, even installing a new ROM.

Does anybody have any ideas on what the problem might be & how to fix it?

I didn't drop the phone or anything and it has worked great up until now. When I get out the stylus and touch the screen it sounds like Windows is responding properly (i.e. I tapped in the upper left corner and heard the click for when I click on the Start button).

Thanks in advance for any help/advice!

Certainly sounds like a hardware issue, dfb. Maybe something came loose inside. If you're not still under warranty you may be interested in opening it up and looking around. There are directions in the wiki (wiki.ppcgeeks.com) on how to open it up.

I would make sure you pursue all warranty opportunities first though... once you open it up you'll mess up a security sticker on the back so they'll be able to tell that you opened it.

I had something similar, not exact, but similar, so here's a little glimmer of hope!!

Unplug power and take the battery out, so the phone has absolutely no power source and let it sit for a few hours... Put the battery back in and plug it in, see if it's any better...

Good luck!

great.... now mine is white screen of death.

I am going to try to take the battery out and charge it until the morning and see how it goes. This just came out of no where The only thing i can think of is that the battery was low and that somehow messed it up.

From my experience with LCD monitors for computers, A white screen usually means a hosed LCD... If the touch sensor is responsive but the screen is only white thats usually a sign of a line of pixels getting stuck and causing the whole series of pixels after it to follow suit... (So in this case it sounds like the very top line got stuck, and so the rest of the 319 lines of pixels can not respond)
