##debug# - fieldtrial.exe needed

Hello guys,

I have Saridnour's pr4 running and I think it doesnt have fieldtrial.exe included. I found the exe file somewhere on the web when I put it under the windows folder and when I run lightsail's phonecodes it just says "unable to open the port". Does anyone have a working ##debug# aka fieldtrial.exe?

Thanks....

you don't need to use ##debug to open fieldtrial.exe. Unlike EPST.exe it can be executed directly. So just go into \Windows and tap on it.

That said, I would find it extremely surprising if saridnour removed that app from his ROMs. I think you must have some other problem. Are you sure you've got File Exporer set to show you all files within \Windows? By default it hides that and a lot of other files from you (Go to Menu->Show all files).

Hope that helps.

Actually I have pm'ed saridnour on this one and he said he excluded but now added it back in. So originally it wasnt there. Actually below is what he said.

"Not sure. Ill try it on my new rom and see what happens as I have added fieldtrial back in. "

And iam also trying with a version of fieldtrial but it doesnt work. Saridnour said hes got a working version:

"It worked in the new version, so it may be the fieldtrial app your using. "

but i havent heard back from him since. So i think i just need a working version but couldnt find it. any idea where i might get it?

Wow... I can think of no good reason to exclude that app from a ROM--it's so useful because it's the only way to accurately measure your signal reception (among other things like EV-DO authentication). He must have excluded it in error.

That said, here it is. If this doesn't work then perhaps it needs to be in the ROM to run--though I doubt that. Drop this in your \Windows folder and execute it directly (as opposed to trying to use a ## code).

I did remove the fieldtrial by accident. Had it out in a test and never migrated it back over before I released. Sorry foakgul that I forgot to get that fle to you, just been really busy and not on here much other than jumping off and on between tasks at work. I have it back for the next release so all should be good. In actuality, you were the only person who pointed it out as it seems most people are'nt resetting things. BTW, the ## functionality from the dialer will be back in pr5 along with the app.

Again sorry for the trouuble and thanks luv2chill for getting that to them.
