alternative to 6700??

ok guys, i have a problem. i've been using the 6700 on my Verizon plan for a couple of months now and have been running BigJ's latest rom. unfortunately, while the 6700 kicks ass as a pda, it really seems to suck as a phone mostly due to the fact that the in-call volume with my bluetooth headset is terrible (i can't hear unless i'm in a quiet room) and also because apparently with Verizon i have to have a data package to do picture messaging or get stuck with a ton of data charges even though i already am paying for picture messaging. i've been pouring through the forums here and on pdaphonehome and trying all the hacks and solutions to these problems to no avail. however i LOVE the fact that i can use my molux bluetooth gps receiver with this phone and i dont want to lose that. my question is this - is there another phone out there which i'll be able to use my gps receiver with (so that i dont have to pay Verizon for gps navigation) and that doesn't have the terrible volume problems this phone has? i'm considering all options...what about blackberry's etc?

Thanks!!

One thing to consider is a different BT headset and doing some of the BT volume hacks.
I found that this combination creates a very usable BT headset "experience".
I use A Plantronics655 primarily (assuming it works after it's journey through the laundry this weekend; so far it's charging- we'll see!). I also use an old Motorola HS820 and Logitech Mobile Freedom, both which have their advantages/disadvantages but work fine.
The worst thing about using the hacks is that they seem to create too much sensitivity in the mic and speech actually gets garbled.

I'm having great luck with the s9.volume is good with calls excellent when listening to music. As far as your data plan how long have you been with verizon? If you've been with them long enough you can try and argue plan prices with them.I'm sure they have their own version of "retentions".Worse case you could look at bailing and coming over to sprint

It is simply not true that they charge you twice for sending pix and flix and I wish people would get this straight. Yes you do need to let the data connect to send those messages, but NO you will not be charged twice (or at all if you have a package of some sort). I've done it many times and there is NO charge, and if there is it is a mistake.

Edit: Just to add, you do not need any sort of Data package besides the per kb plan (which is the basic one). Once you connect the data and send directly through the mms program you turn it off or it will charge you if you use it for anything else but MMS.
