Anyone else have alot of today plugins and have poor battery

life?

I recently came into contact with a HTC Wizard.. well being as how I love tinkering with devices, I put WM6 on it.. Man the battery lasts days!!

If I unplug my Apache, within 20 minutes it's already at 80%.. I am running the HTC Home plugin, Live messenger and the HTC BT Quicklink today plugin..

I have those exact same plugins running on the wizard, live msgr connected and it lasts all day and into a second..

If I do this with my Apache, it wont last 4-5 hours.. Is this because the Apache is using EVDO vs the EDGE network? requires more battery power? And also the fact that the Apache is 416mhz vs the Wizard's 195mhz?

I'm just trying to find the huge difference in battery life..I dont understand it. The battery in the Wizard is only 100 more mAH than my stock Apache battery..

hmmm

i knoticed the battery on the 6700 is a bit ... not good. lol

but its not horribly bad. my phone lasts like.. 4x longer then my laptop.

lol and it has allmost all the capibilitys my lappy does.. (wifi, and such)

Perhaps you might try getting an extended battery? thats what im planning on doing, or getting an extra battery entirely..

goodluck

If i remember correctly, the 416mhz to the 195mhz does have a key role in the battery draining. Again, i could b wrong, it's been a while since i read the info but if my memory serves me right, i am pretty sure the mhz does determin ur battery life (among other things ofcourse).

well, the speed of a processor determines howmuch power drain there is.

like..

a bigger more bad ass car, takes more gas

then the fruity geo your mom drives,

but it goes alot faster... lol

It's also probably the fact that it uses EDGE network which is very slow and probably consumes alot less power..

I just could not believe the battery life on the wizard..and even at 195mhz, it doesnt run that slow.. it's very comparable to the apache..

I have an extended battery.. the 3200mah one also.. but that thing is a beast and sticks out so far that it bulges in my pocket..

On a side note what battery do you guys have. Cause I just got a replacement 6700 today and it shipped with a 1370mAh. But I could have sworn it used to be 1350 mAh. Not a big differance. But it was free!

I have horrible battery life on my Apache but I attributed it to the battery being old. If I turn Wifi on the battery lasts maybe an hour tops but more like 30 minutes. With wifi turned off, it lasts the whole day without doing much on it (no data connection) and it's at about 70 percent at the end of the day. I was playing a game (archvale) after this point and it lasted maybe an hour. Does this sound normal? I am using the AKU 3.5 1.02, and have Spb Pocket Plus, Diary, and Weather running (again no data, so no continuous connection or downloading).
