Re: Thanks for the memories...HTC APACHE
I hit a little snag. My carrier only offers HSDPA on wcdma850. Is there any models of the Touch Pro that run on that frequency? I believe that the Fuze can. Please correct me if I am wrong.
I am considering moving to a different carrier, with CDMA, so that i can keep my apache. I would need to replace my batteries & find a new housing, but i believe this might be a viable solution. This all hinges on the possibility of my present number being transferred. Last edited by mda71; 05-11-2009 at 02:51 AM. |

Re: Thanks for the memories...HTC APACHE
get a fuze or touch pro... I kno these guys work miracles but the touch pro just excels in every area.. Its honestly the best phone out.. If you can wait for the touch pro2 you might want to.. The hardware is the same but It will have newer software (I would reccomend a custom rom anyway) and it will have a bigger screen that tilts.. It also trades the camera flash for improved speaker phone that should allow conference calls

Re: Thanks for the memories...HTC APACHE
When talking about getting a new housing, are you looking for a specific housing, or just a new one?
I have a Verizon housing that is like new and I only used it for a week. Let me know if you're interested.

Re: Thanks for the memories...HTC APACHE
***UPDATE***
I opted to get a TP2 and just received is 4 hours ago. I drove to my carrier and put my new SIM card in. I will be posting my experience with this switch from the phone i love. To give you a recap, I have used my apache for 3+ years and i absolutely love it. I was a pleasure using it. After purchasing a Seidio 3200mah battery, menu customization & changing the rom, it transformed into my highly reliable and usuable phone. Initially when i purchased it I had the impression that I would have to change this unit every 6-9months due to the touch screen. I work in a industry that does installation and setup of networks. Many times I work in construction sites installing & testing cables. I never had a case and only had a screen protector 50% of the time. I would just place the apache on my pocket. My hopes is that the TP2 can be as reliable & usable as my apache. ***INITIAL THOUGHTS*** note: I prefer not to comment on the overall appearance. I would like to concentrate on features between the apache and TP2. My biggest disappointment was that there are not enough buttons on this phone. Let me explain. The apache had 3 other buttons on the side. I mapped one of them to activate Voice Commander. I found this very useful when im driving. I can keep my eyes on the road and press that button to make calls out using my BT headset. Currently I dont know how to do this. There are only the volume control & on/off buttons on the side. I'll update my experiences as much as I possibly can. If this is inappropriate, please move or delete. |
