The day, I have been dreading, has finally arrived. I need to replace my HTC apache. I have owned this phone for about 3 years now and have grown quite fond of it. I purchased the seidio 3200mah battery and have never worried about its battery life. I would like to thank the community here for all your support in making this device great. The reason I am going to change my apache is two-fold. Firstly , my seidio battery has now bulged a bit. This makes the battery teeter in the battery compartment instead of sitting flat. The seidio battery cover cannot be fully closed now and I must use tape to secure it. Secondly, my provider is now offering HSDPA for their GSM customers. They have only provided 1XRTT for the CDMA customers. I would like to use the new HSDPA service, thus requiring me to find a GSM phone. If HTC made a GSM model of the Apache, I would just buy that. I am considering purchasing the Touch Pro (US model). Any other recommendations? I am looking to replace my beloved apache with a very similar phone with the same form-factor (sliding keyboard pocketpc). Any help will be greatly appreciated.
If there was a way to convert this phone to GSM with HSDPA I would do that right away. I really love this phone.
