Various HTC Home Plugins ...

Are they at all customizable on a per tab basis?

I'd like to have a 4 tab one.

Home, Weather, Launcher and Picture Speed Dial - it would be the right "finger button" size (I find the 6 button cramped - and I don't use my Apache for music, so that tab is useless and the sound profile tab is "vague").

I just "discovered" the Treo speed dial home plugin, but things are starting to look cramped!

There's really no way to customize those apps that is feasible for the end user. Making changes requires hex editing the dll.

This question has already been asked and answered in the Helmi 1.0.3 Bugs/Patches thread.

**EDIT**

Sorry for the misinterpretation...
I assumed that because he was asking for a 4 button app (which, as of 1.0.3, there are only Basic, 3, and 6) it would require the same amount of effort and know-how.

Well what I was referring to was customizing what gets launched when you tap on the shortcuts to e-mail, sms, and missed calls. That is hard-coded.

The customizer app won't work on either version in the current kitchen, but the next kitchen will have the customizable 6-tab version--that app will work on it.

I guess I'm just surprised that HTC wouldn't use the same framework for all versions of the plugin and then just have plugins for each tab. I was considering looking at the 6 tab version and seing if I cold hexedit or resource edit it down to 4 tabs

No there is a version of the 6 tab that lets you choose what tabs you want to display (using registry entries). It is not the version that is in the current kitchen (will be in the next) but in the meantime you can find it at the software forum here.

Keep an eye on the thread below. WM5 support is supposed to be added to the next version.
