Sure thing. No ROMs require you to be synced. They will put you bootloader, but I always have been able to flash out on bootloader, even with Titan.

The BL is v1.0

Tried both, the v1.00 and the v1.00 NoID. At one point though, v1.00 NoID said not for my device. Then the other said not connected.

Device Manager says Unknown device.... :(

It also never changed from Serial on the BL screen...

Kirvin CS 3.5 will work. Search for my thread on Kirvin WM5 for Apache...

So what OS are you on? XP or Vista?

Hmm, do you have ActiveSync 4.5 installed? You might want to make sure just so there drivers are there. Don't have to sync, but need drivers. And yes, that's the thread.

4.5 is installed... Even pointed driver setup to the AS directory... Still says unknown device....

You can hear the USB connect and disconnect sound... It still shows it in device manager though...

Know of anyone that has one of these for sale at a fair price?

This is my worry here. If you connect the device to the computer via USB while in BL mode and it never changes from Serial to USB then you cannot proceed. The PC must be able to detect the device correctly first. Im sry if this is a repeat question but have you tried to connect this same phone to a different computer with a different cable? If not to a different PC and with a different cable then do so. If you have and it still didnt work then you need a new device.

Three different PC's and two different cables :(

Well looks like Im picking up the digitizer from the post office tomorrow. I may not be able to upgrade but at least I can still use it for other things. Well at least I hope the digitizer will get me past the align screen.

When I took her apart, I didnt see anything out of the ordinary. The solder joints were fine and strong... At least it was easy to take apart. Wont be so hard the put in the digitizer.

Just won a 6700 (Qwest) off of eBay. Ill be playing with that soon. :D

UPDATE: Ok so I got the digitizer and went to install it. And when I get into the LCD area I realize I have a half cracked ribbon cable. So Im done with this thing. FINALLY

Ill see you guys when the other 6700 comes in! Thanks for all your help guys!

The solder connections onto the USB connector have showed up as a problem in more than one phone that I havehad (Original plus two replacements). The pre-heat on the earth connections wasn't good enough and the connectins fail killing the fine connections underneath with flexing of charging cable.

I have managed to salvage one phone with fine soldering but the other one I killed with heat before I got it right.

Symptoms are charge will blink on then off. Bootloader won't connect, eg remains in serial even with cable plugged in.
