Won't start up after repacing parts

I have two xv6700. One of them had a bad touch screen (the bottom part wouldn't work). I picked up a second one that had a good screen but the enter button on the bottom didn't work. I tore both of them apart and put the good pieces on the one unit. The assembly process when really well except now neither of them will work. I've since put them back into their original configuration and they still won't work.

When I hit the power button they don't do anything. If I plug it into the wall the red charging light turns on. I left one of them in overnight with no luck. I've tried holding down the power and record buttons as well and don't get anything. Everything appears to be plugged in correctly.

Is there a special startup procedure that I need to do? I'd think hitting the power button would do the trick.

Bummer (2) dead Apaches.

Could try removing the battery and putting it back in all while plugged in.
Worked for me once to get rid of the red light.

Record + Power + Reset Button gives you the bootloader screen which probably won't help.

Both "-" Buttons + Reset Button gives you a hard reset which clears all data and resets you to factory (or your latest rom) default.

Just the reset button on it's own gives you a soft reset that just restarts the device.

Resetting could fix the problem too if it even recognizes the button press with the red light on.

If you weren't grounded you might have zapped something with static electricity.
