I dropped my ppc6700 in my friends dog bowl tonight. :-( It's in the fridge now. Heard that would help.

The best thing to do that I know of is immediately remove the battery and wait quite a while for it to dry, and pray.

A friend of mine. He said it will draw whatever reamaining water that I couldn't dry off with a towel out. So I put it in there for four hrs. Pulled it out let it warm back up for an hr. Turned it on and everything seemed fine until the screen went white. Now the dots that are supposed to turn red are still white. So hopefully I can get a replacement.

Deadly sponge is right - If you ever have a water accident pull the battery out and let it dry for a couple days. Don't power it on to 'test' in the drying process, just let it go.

Never heard of the fridge trick, and I don't think the fridge will draw any more moisture away then a normal room.

I did pull the battery out right away. I left in on the desk at work and decided to turn it on and everythings working fine. I don't know if I'm just lucky or the fridge helped. But I am on the phone now. :-)

The best thing to do is take the battery out immediately. If its salt water you want to dunk the phone in clean water to remove the salt as it will cause issues down the road.

Put it in a plastic ziplock with as many of those silica packs you can fit in there to absorb the moisture. You can get these from your local pharmacy as they have tons of them from the drugs.

Put the sealed bag under a desk lamp to let it heat up a little and speed up the moisture extraction.

The refrigerator thing makes sense to me. It's the same theory on why the Air conditioner turns on in your car when you turn it to defroster. The A/C drys the air while cooliong it down.

My GF spilled beer on mine a few weeks ago and just wiped it off without telling me. I was using it later that night and noticed my joystick starting to become unresponsive. When I opened it up the keyboard was all wet. So I immediately removed the battery and SD card and grabbed my can of compressed air to blow the majority of the water out of the device. I then (with the keyboard out) placed it on top of the cables behind my PC and let it sit there for a few hours with the hot air blowing on it like a hair dryer. Crisis averted! But I still chewed out my GF for not telling me sooner :twisted:

I'm sure this won't be the last time this happens to me. I will keep that plastic bag and gel in mind. Thanks Guys.
