First, you need to take phoenx06's advice and calm down, then run that program he attached. You don't want activesync running anyways. You want the screen to say "USB".

I have the same problem also but the program doesn't seem to work
I have an XV6700 and it seems that this radio update is for the PPC-6700 I downloaded the new 1.4 update for Verizon but I can't get out of the bootloater I have tried this program. I get an error Cannot open USB port. Please make sure, that USB connection in ActiveSync is disabled. Also make sure, that your uSB cable is properly connected. I'm running Windows Vista Business x64 Edition Also tried with admin privs, same result |
Seems like a lot of people have problems with rom updates using vista. Do you have an XP machine you can try it on? The radio update will work on your phone, I used it on my verizon branded phone just fine.

Yep, Vista is kinda screwy when it comes to flashing your phone. I would definately advise using an XP machine.
|
Something else I noticed when syncing was that some cheap usb hubs seem to cause problems. I can imagine this could also be a problem when flashing or anything else dealing with data communications to the phone. Just a thought.

Hmm, I'll have to see if i can borrow my friends laptop for this then...
all of my machines are vista. The cord is plugged directly into the machine |

I found these a long time ago when I was beta testing Vista, these are drivers for PPCs that may help with the Vista sync/flash issues. Just plug your phone in to the USB port, then go to Device Manager and update drivers for your device. Select the "Browse My Computer" option then "Let me pick" then "Have Disk".

hmm, still no luck on vista
oh well can that program work without active sync? i got an xp laptop that may work, i just can't put anything on it |
hey, I was just looking and I wasn't paying attention and I downloaded the PPC6700-NewRadio-1.27 folder from the FTP in /Apache/Updated Radios/
will I still be able to undo this? |
