YAY! I did this in glossy black, same as you did... And everyone noticed it finally! Nobody noticed when I got the damn phone, but now they notice it. But I'm trying to find some kind of Anodized Blue or something to match the color of my RAZR. I want to paint the inside (keyboard layer) flat black with engine paint so it wont chip and the rest the same color blue as my RAZR to match them up.

nFinity that sounds really cool. Good luck with the painting of the keyboard, I was a bit nervous to do that.

Here is the result of my recent paint job. It should keep me happy until Alltel gets the htc 6800 sometime this month.

Oh no, not the keyboard... just the plastic around the keyboard... the center section with the volume slider and the 3 buttons...

That looks nice tho. Yeah, I can't wait till Alltel gets the 6800... That baby will be mine! hehe

i know i'll get flamed for this, but how hard was it to get the front plastic piece off? that is, the part that actually says "pocket pc." i've always hated having to replace my screen protector, and its always made me want to remove that front plastic piece, in order to get the screen protector on perfectly. i know i'd have to repeat the process the next time i wanted to replace it, but hopefully getting it on there better, would extend the amount of time between screen protector replacement.

i also know that this would probably qualify as "overkill" and have most people put me on the ocd list, but i like the idea of getting the protector on there just right.

The first time (not the one noted on this blog) I tried to paint my phone I used the plastidip also. It looked and felt way cool however it peeled off very easily.

To take the face plate off you must take the entire phone apart. If your OCD enough, it would be worth it. I wouldn't do it too many times because i've noticed some screws not tightening the way they did before. I've had my phone apart 5 times now. A T6 screwdriver is vital for taking this phone apart.

All the best!
J.

I can send you the contact I have in china where I found my replacement screen. $58

Here is the link for the screen that I bought

http://www.alibaba.com/manufacturer/...d028steb1.html

After I sent the money using moneybookers.com (seemed sketchy but i've not had any problems, no stolen money or ID) The brand new screen arrived within 5 days - Amazon.com can't get you shit as fast as this guy in China!!!

I don't believe the ribbon rubbs enough to cause a problem. Let me know if you need any more informaiton

Kind Regards
J.
