PPC-6700 Antenna help

I have an external antenna for my PPC-6700 (Alltel) and ever since I started using it that's all I can use now. If I remove the external antenna my internal antenna doesn't seem to get any reception. While inserting the ext. antenna adapter could I may have shorted something out causing the internal antenna to fry? Can this be fixed?

Thanks in advance,
Maynard

If you search, you'll find other posts with the same problem...as best I can remember, it is due to a physical break of the internal antenna connection...

For what it's worth, I plug an external antenna in to my XV6700 everyday at work, and have never had a problem.

Do a search and see if anyone found a better answer than needing a replacement.

Have you done a soft reset after removing the antenna? When some phones tag the external antenna port and find a load (antenna) there, they will switch to the external port and V-mack the power accordingly. After removing the external antenna, the software may not v-mack back and might require a reset to set things right again.
