Yep, after its done, it will ask you to hard reset, but there is no need. Just do a soft reset, and then you can enjoy your newly updated radio.

Greets,

Did Hetal's radio upgrade no problem on windows XP,
too bad BIGJ's core made my screen go blank!

BigJ if you read this, I'll post the exact details in your thread.

onwards and upwards!

Has anyone tried the 1.41 ROM yet? I just downloaded it. I'll post if I find any issues.

BP-isMe 07-06-2007 04:31 PM

I downloaded Hetal-AKU3.5.4.C

When I went to install it, the upgrade screen said it would update the CE rom to 3.5.4. I understood that this update was for the radio only. The update did not seem to have any radio update in it.

Am I missing something? It would seem so.

Thanks...Brad

Just installed the Hetal 1.41 Radio on my Verizon xv6700 without a problem. Very easy and should work for every apache I belive.

1. download 1.41 radio:
ftp://ppcgeeks:ezupload@ppcgeeks.com...Radio-1.41.rar

2. Phone into bootloader (power + voice record button + stylus reset)

3. Attach phone to PC via USB

4. run APACUpgradeUt_noID.exe

5. what 'til it finishes, detach device from PC

6. Soft reset via stylus

Anyone try this with an Alltel 6700 with Alltel service?

I am currently using 1.41, but I have a Midwest Wireless (bought by Alltel) phone, with Alltel/MWW service.

It is working pretty good, but if you had no signal before it's not going to help much. It seems to consistently have about 1 bar more than my friends phone with radio rom 1.16.

Battery and signal have not Improved with 1.27 from 1.15. Flashing back to 1.15 this is an upgrade that is not needed and not advised.

Verizon XV-6700

So here's the deal.
I upgraded to the 1.27
The upgrade went fine.
Calls registered and completed successfully.
Thanks to this upgrade my calls are much clearer.

Now for the sad news.
After a week of using this Radio update my calls are still clear but my data connection went from 144Kbps(1X) to 7Kbps(1X). My Wifi went to crap too. Seriously. 180Kbps over 802.11G? Yikes!

:-(

Now for the good news:

I have successfully upgraded my radio to the 1.41 Radio and now my calls are great and my data(1X) is back to 144Kbps.
My Wifi is back around just under 1MB too! :-)

Why is the data not faster? I guess because I'm in a rural area.

The post by (xmind2006) is the one I used.

Best of luck to all!

Greets,

OK, out of sheer morbid curiousity I tried once again to update my verizon xv6700 radio using windows Vista. Unfortunately I got more of the same.

Remembering to make sure I went into bootloader everytime prevented me from having to do a complete AKU reload this time. The symptoms were the same this time, I thought I'd provide some better details and see if anyone else has made it by my lock spot.

Windows Vista Business Edition, Windows Mobile Device Center. I tried using Microsoft's USB native driver. I tried using the HTC USB sync driver, I'm using the Vista RUU utility found in another thread. I've tried disabling USB altogether but the result is the same. After APACnoID utility tried to detect my device it shows the ROM summary screen and it's blank. Clicking UPGRADE just leads to the "This utility is not designed for your device, please use the appropriate utility" blah blah.

What burns me is that Helmi's Kitchen has NO problems upgrading AKU on this same phone on windows Vista. I tried taking radio.nbf, renaming it nk.nbf and tossing it over the nk.nbf file that the kithen creates but that only leads to the application telling me "invalid ROM file"

I've got a process dump this time to review, but I appreciate feedback if you'd had some of these same issues.

Thanks!
