I bought an extended battery from ebay for $17. It came with car and home charger. Althought this is a non-brand battery, it lasted 2-3 times longer than my stock battery. The description says 2400mAh. Here's a link if anybody interested.

I'm getting it from PhoneAlarm which displays it in percentage. It's basically a translation of the bars into %.

There is a way to directly get the exact signal from the phone via some diagnostics, but I'm not sure how.

ok so heres an update. i wasnt very happy with my actual phone. it felt like there was a lot of potential with it but it just wasnt getting there. i called some guy at sprint and he told me that theyd give me a new battery. i took it and the sprint store said that they would run some diagnostics. after they did they just straight gave me a new phone because i had my 6700 for less than 3pdays. i wanted to see if it was indeed my phone and not the programs so i set everything up exactly like before. there was a noticeable improvement but i decided to try and get even more so i followed all the setting instructions here. im currently at my internship and im at 80% at lunch instead of the usual 20-30%. thabks for the great help guys

man you know my First PPC-6700 sucked at battery life. I would have to charge that thing like 3 times a day with light usage and NO programs or anything installed, backlight low etc but it was an older rom. Took it back after 3 days of having it (this was last month) now I have the newest rom PPC-6700 and with programs on it, hacks etc, much better performance!
